Author dreamergrl Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 Well, anyone who's been involved with someone's g/f or b/f mum before knows that this is a big deal which is why I'd say question the past relationship experience thing. It's not something anyone would take lightly IME I'm a bit confused at what your saying here. Sorry, I"m a little slow today lol You think that there's a flag here because my mom jokingly sent him a friend request? You wouldn't be able to tell the connection between me and my mom unless you accept the request because we have different last names and our profiles are private.
alphamale Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 OK Dreamer that's creepy, he friended your mom? OMG that is soooo strange. This dude will eventually turn into a stalker mark my word...
silverfish Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Well that doesn't really count as 'meeting your mum' then but I spose for myself - I wouldn't like it, just because it means that theres a connection there that would have to be severed if things didn't work out. Also if my mum friended someone I had one date with it would mean would have to unfriend her on principle, because I like my privacy. If I want to introduce her to someone, I would (and have), but them doing their f/b thing at this stage would really p me off.

I'd be bothered if there was conversation going on back and forth at this point. But there isn't. My mom would tell me. I know her, and I know she wasn't doing it to stick her nose in my business. She thought she was being funny. She's been sick, and got put on leave from work. She started playing fb app games and what not, and using the internet for fun. Long story, but I know she didn't mean to do anything mean to me. And if he didn't look at the profile, he'd never know yet that it was my mom. I was thinking about just saying mentioning that my mom told me she did that, and I'm sorry for the strange request.
alphamale Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I was thinking about just saying mentioning that my mom told me she did that, and I'm sorry for the strange request. maybe your mom and this guy are playing farm town
Author dreamergrl Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 maybe your mom and this guy are playing farm town  She plays all those games and is always excited to get new friends to add to her posse
silverfish Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 It sounds like your Mum and potential b/f are a lot less cynical than all of us - AND THATS A GOOD THING!
jerbear Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009  She plays all those games and is always excited to get new friends to add to her posse That would be mafia wars!
whiteberry Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 So last night I had a cocktail date I was asked out by a guy through online dating, his words were .. "Could I take you out and buy you a few drinks tonight, and chat?" Phone impression: Extremely friendly, calls when he said he would, shows a lot of interest. Very first impression. Sexy eyes, handsome smile, a very warm personality. He was very nice when we 'met'. Opened all my doors. Guided me with his hand lightly on my back. Let's call him A. A and I clicked so freaking good it's not even funny. I can't remember when I've laughed and smiled so much. We have tons in common. He is very charming, sweet, and considerate. His eyes light up when he gets excited about something he talks about. A has a good job, is stable, and seems very happy in life. We talked for hours and hours. There was affection. Great chemistry. We just clicked so well. I don't want to jump to far ahead, but I can see myself dating just him, if the next few dates go as well. We actually have another date tonight. Something about this date just felt so right. I'm very excited about our date tonight. Giddy and fluttery. This is the best date I've had for sure since I moved here, and in the running for all time. :bunny::):) Nice one. With your story, you just proved that online dating really works. You were lucky for having found someone whom you can share same interests. But take it slow...
jerbear Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 maybe your mom and this guy are playing farm town That is so wrong... no comment...
jerbear Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I was thinking about just saying mentioning that my mom told me she did that, and I'm sorry for the strange request. I don't think you need to apologize to him. I would just keep it real and said my mom sent you the request because she is just weird like that.
loveslife Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 That is so wrong... no comment... "Farm town" is not a euphemism for something dirty, it's a game on facebook.
Author dreamergrl Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 It sounds like your Mum and potential b/f are a lot less cynical than all of us - AND THATS A GOOD THING! They are both very laid back people. I was worried that he'd just think it was a bit weird That would be mafia wars! She does that, yoville, farmville, farm town, and like 5023884 more :lmao: Nice one. With your story, you just proved that online dating really works. You were lucky for having found someone whom you can share same interests. But take it slow... Thank you! I don't think you need to apologize to him. I would just keep it real and said my mom sent you the request because she is just weird like that. Yeah, and hopefully he wont think I'm trying to bring him into the family already
loveslife Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Yeah, maybe I'll go with a salad. What type of lettuce? I was just going to put some spices in the sauce. I hate tons of veggies in my sgetti sauce It's a texture thing. You really should just serve what you like. Something to consider - cooking at your place and bringing it over ready to heat in the oven. Something like a lasagna.

New guy and I also like a lot of the same foods
jerbear Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 "Farm town" is not a euphemism for something dirty, it's a game on facebook. Well they could be "plowing" each other's fields. She does that, yoville, farmville, farm town, and like 5023884 more :lmao::lmao: Gamer mom! At least she is enjoying her life. Yeah, and hopefully he wont think I'm trying to bring him into the family already She already welcomed him into the Mafia family, made him a neighbor in FarmTown, FarmVille, fellow mobster, pirate, etc... Honestly, sounds like he is trying to make you join the family. He did present the key?
Author dreamergrl Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 Well they could be "plowing" each other's fields. Sick :lmao: Gamer mom! At least she is enjoying her life. She deserves it. She's been so sick with lyme disease, it's just been taking over her life. But today she found out great news. She went down two bars, which means the meds and i.v. (she has to give herself an i.v. daily) are starting to have an impact. She already welcomed him into the Mafia family, made him a neighbor in FarmTown, FarmVille, fellow mobster, pirate, etc... Oh brother Honestly, sounds like he is trying to make you join the family. He did present the key? Seriously, is letting a girl have a key for a day really that big of a deal to a guy??
loveslife Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Are you kidding?!?! Chicken and sgetti are my favorite things. Next to gyros. New guy and I also like a lot of the same foods  Awesome! For salad, I like spring mix. It's really tasty and you can get it pre-cleaned in boxes or bags. I like the Organic varieties. Go simple. Maybe get a can of artichoke hearts and cut up a tomato. Sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top and use oil and vinegar. That is one of my favorite meals/salads.

I knew a lot of people afflicted when I lived in Connecticut. It's rampant there. She certainly does deserve some fun.
jerbear Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Seriously, is letting a girl have a key for a day really that big of a deal to a guy??Shows trust, potentially lack of boundaries and moving to fast. That is just my opinion that it is moving fast.
loveslife Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 How much oil and vinegar do I use? Hmm, I'm of the less is more thinking when it comes to salad dressing. For a heaping serving in a side salad dish use 2 Tablespoons each and toss well. I really like balsamic vinegar. Adds a nice little zest. Oh, you can sprinkle a little oregano on top, too.
Author dreamergrl Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 Ugh. Lyme is horrible! I knew a lot of people afflicted when I lived in Connecticut. It's rampant there. She certainly does deserve some fun. She's had it for about a year and 4 months. Her first doctor tried to tell her that she didn't need to get tested after the deer tick bit her because Lyme Disease doesn't happen in SE Wisconsin So she was infected without treatment for a good four months. She got the bite at work, which means now workers comp is covering her, and they are trying to force her back to work. But her doctor doesn't want her back yet. It's been a horrible ordeal for her.

Would it be wrong to message him and ask him if he has certain stuff? Like basics? Or should I just bring all new stuff?
