Jersey Shortie Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 sometimes with all those tight pants, i'ts hard to tell.. Of course i am "generalizing" but message board posts don't hold enough attention span to envoke every possible case and scenerio.
Taramere Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I will take your word for it. I was just speaking from my limited experiences. Maybe I am a bawdy American but I could never be attracted to a Frenchmen. They seem more feminine and they enjoy wearing such tight pants. They don't look too tight to me.
caramel c Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I think you're doing it all wrong . After unjustifiable dispencing benefit of the doubt for many years, I learned to accept that most people are idiots, complete morons . Only after I was able to let go I got pleasantly surprised every once in a while. And even then, chances you're not going to go "wow", but rather "Aww, this seems like a genuine person that I could have a cup of coffee with tiwhout wanting to slap them" . So, statistically the odds are not in your favor, but there is always hope . Not wanting to slap them is KEY. Not wanting to run them over in your car is even better.

Of course i am "generalizing" but message board posts don't hold enough attention span to envoke every possible case and scenerio. What americans classify as tight pants/clothes are merely properly fitting pants/clothes .

Of course i am "generalizing" but message board posts don't hold enough attention span to envoke every possible case and scenerio. Hah! Fair enough. My only stipulation with any guy is his tight pants cant be a smaller size than mine. As long as thats covered, Im cool with whatever.
Taramere Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Whoa, whoa, whoa! You're engaged now? Why, and more importantly - why, has this been kept under wraps? And even more importantly, I was under the impression that you and I are getting married ! I'd have to check your family tree first. It would be terrible if it turned out that we weren't at least distantly related.
Jersey Shortie Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 What americans classify as tight pants/clothes are merely properly fitting pants/clothes . Well fashion is subjective. I know my idea on what is properly fitted pants/clothes. I am sure you have your own idea. There is some American fashion that clearly likes too much roomi n the clothing but I find French fashion does like tight pants. I would say a properly fitted pant or clothes would be a regular suit that you can find most corporate men wearing. Tara, I can't see that picture. I did say "in my experience".
Author Soul Bear Posted September 12, 2009 Author Posted September 12, 2009 :lmao: Wow, this thread took a funny turn. JerBear- There are a lot of 'wow' factor people on here. A few have made me think...'hey...wow'. Forgive me for not telling them straight up that's what I think..maybe I should start.. I like. ReturnToSender- Maybe now it's your turn to have someone who appreciates you, helps you, and wont take you for a ride. Don't give to never receive all the time SamSpade.- I could be doing it all wrong, but I don't feel like I am...for once. CarriT- Not everyone thinks like that. I have seen some people describe themselves as 'average'. It doesn't excite me at all. That said, I'm in Edinburgh. lol Jersey- Is that insinuating that I over talk myself? I would hate to be one of those people and I really hope that's not the case...... As for saying People don't meet my expectations, what I meant by that is I have to be attracted to them. No one gets through life well, without taking chances. No risk= No reward.
Sam Spade Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I'd have to check your family tree first. It would be terrible if it turned out that we weren't at least distantly related. We would have been, if my ancestral homeys didn't like the balkans so much and stopped there. Slackers! Must have been the hot slavic chicks .
Author Soul Bear Posted September 12, 2009 Author Posted September 12, 2009 I agree! It's better to be single than sorry. I enjoy my single life and I am not going to give it up just for the sake of settling down. By the time I do, it better be GOOD. lol @ the inbred looking women of Scotland. Is that you in the picture? hahaha, exactly. And of course that's me in the picture! SamSpade --:lmao:
caramel c Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 hahaha, exactly. And of course that's me in the picture! Tall & good looking are 2 very good starting points.
Sam Spade Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I would say a properly fitted pant or clothes would be a regular suit that you can find most corporate men wearing. My point exactly: most men in america wear suits that are *at least two sizes* too big. The baggy clothes look is so deeply entrenched that I repeatedly have to fight off salesmen trying to sell me a size 40 suit given that I have 38" chest (even when they're the ones taking the measurement), or ones advising to buy a jacket a size larger "so I could wear a sweater underneath".

Why in the world would they ever advise you to wear a sweater underneath? That is a fashion disaster.
Trialbyfire Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Plse don't be insulted Soul Bear but you don't look 24. You look quite a bit older and are very good-looking. It takes time to find someone who you can really mesh with. It took a couple of years+ after my separation, to find the right man for me. It was worthwhile being patient, since I didn't play the numbers game, dating less than 10 men in that period of time.

Must have been the hot slavic chicks . My ancestors were a bit more dynamic than that. They were into putting horns on their heads and going out to get some, so there might still be a link.
Sam Spade Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Why in the world would they ever advise you to wear a sweater underneath? That is a fashion disaster. I meant casual/leather jacket. But even so - I beg to differ - sweater under a suit jacket or a sportcoat can still be uber cool, if done right (i.e. euro-style )

But even so - I beg to differ - sweater under a suit jacket or a sportcoat can still be uber cool, if done right (i.e. euro-style ) Oh ok, maybe under an outerwear jacket, but under a suit jacket, no, no sweaters lol...perhaps if I saw a picture of it done right in your opinion I could see what you mean, but the way I'm picturing it, it belongs in the back of a magazine on the DON'T page with the guys eyes blacked out.

It was worthwhile being patient, since I didn't play the numbers game, dating less than 10 men in that period of time. No offence taken. I usually get the opposite told to me that I look younger! I was born on the 27th July 1985, in the Highlands of Scotland Left Home at 15, left school at 15. I'm so bad at taking compliments, and even worse at picking up on subtle flirtations from women.... I'm not looking , but Maybe I will end up meeting someone amazing on here... There are already a few people who have really caught my attention over the months.... As for wearing a jumper UNDER your suite....wtf.....
northstar1 Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 During the sticky summer months, I prefer to don a crisp linen suit with nothing on underneath. Style and comfort combined with breatheable fabric = win.
Author Soul Bear Posted September 12, 2009 Author Posted September 12, 2009 Sorry, but screw wearing a suit.
Trialbyfire Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Why in the world would they ever advise you to wear a sweater underneath? That is a fashion disaster.Nuh uh. A round necked t-shirt with a shallow v-necked tight sweater under a suit jacket...looks hawt!! My fiance during the winter months, wears a zip-neck turtle neck under his suit jacket, with a pair of jeans. You have to see it to believe how good it looks on him because the description sounds awful. But...at the end of the day, it's how comfortable and confident you feel, wearing fashion forward clothing. If it doesn't suit your personality or body type, you're going to look and feel like crap, regardless of what designer, what fabric and how "expensive" or "trendy" it is.

I completely agree with the last sentence you said, but, I have seen the turtleneck under suit jacket look plenty of times and I am not a fan at all. I guess we just don't agree.

No one gets through life well, without taking chances. No risk= No reward. I don't know if you over talk yourself! I can't say that. I just know that I have had the experiece of going out with men or talking to men that have said things like you said in your first post and it left me wondering if any girl would be good enough and I backed down from it. It's fine to want the things you want and be confident in yourself. Maybe it's a matter of how you express those things at first that matters? And you are right. it is really hard to sometimes put myself out there and take risks because I get easily brusied. My point exactly: most men in america wear suits that are *at least two sizes* too big. I've bought suit jackets from salesmen and have been on many wedding suit adjustements and I never heard any of the sales men try to sell a jacket size bigger then what it should be with the idea that you could wear a sweater. But then again, I shop at places like Nordstroms or the likes of that for such occasions. Not Sears.
