I'm finding it really hard to meet a lady who ticks most of the boxes.

I'm 6'3'', 24, from Scotland

I'm content with life.

-warm,fun,caring,honest & positive..

I'm not your 'average guy' ...

I do a lot of different things and have had a very unusual and exciting life so far.....

I'm greatful for all the experiences in my life.

It'll take someone very genuine, unique and special....

But where is she?

I'm wondering the same thing. I think the more amazing you are, the harder it is to find someone. :(

There are only a few of them in the world and the chances of finding one is one in a million.

LoveShack does seem to have a few diamonds here and there. Too bad the owners of the site disabled private messaging...

Mad Driver- PM is not disabled if you are an established member, but agreed that there are some seemingly really great people on here.

Woggle- I wouldn't place the odds as high as that...1 in a million?!....i'll take the odds that she is probably right under my nose.

Erica- I think there is some truth in that...to some extent.

Ok, so how do I become an "established member"?

Hey, I would grab you with both hands, soul bear...but you're far too young for me.

It can't be that hard for you to find a like-minded girl. Scotland isn't quite on the level of Oz or NZ when it comes to activities, but none the less there's plenty of stuff like white-water rafting, canyoning and abseiling available - and plenty of attractive women who get involved in things like that.

If you're looking for a woman of a more adventurous disposition, you might want to give something like that a shot. Make sure you're the one who pulls her out of the water when she's chucked out of the raft. That kind of thing. I think people tend to connect more easily and naturally in that kind of setting.

Right here, honey, right here :p

It's not easy finding someone you can connect with in every way, I guess if it was easy, it wouldn't be much fun or a challenge. You have to sift through the weird and the cheaters to get to the great one. Something like that.

Taramere- :o....

Most of (but not all) of the women in Scotland look a bit inbred.

They do say, that incest is a game for all the family...seems like some people take that seriously.

I'm well traveled, and prefer foreign women to be honest. What can be more exciting than 2 different cultures creating chemistry?!

The right ones just don't seem to be around, and I'm not going to settle for just anyone.

Jerbear- How observant of you! :p

Leia- :o:o

I've had my fair share of crap, oblivious to other peoples feelings, fake people.

I want someone to make me go 'wow'.....

I guess we do have to sift through the sh*t......

:D jerbear you're awesome :D

Im amazing! Hah...I dont generally feel that way, but all my ex's tell me how wonderful and amazing I was, what a wonderful gf/wife I was, how genuine I was.

Bad for me...they all for one reason or another end up cheating on me.

Good thing for them...in all my serious relationships, because of my encouragement to go back to school/go for that promotion/work on something thevey been putting off of unsure about/what have you...they always end up in a much better position once Im gone.

So yeah, if you want a boost in your career or financial situation drop me a line...Ive got that midas touch...

I think you're doing it all wrong :).

After unjustifiable dispencing benefit of the doubt for many years, I learned to accept that most people are idiots, complete morons :p. Only after I was able to let go I got pleasantly surprised every once in a while. And even then, chances you're not going to go "wow", but rather "Aww, this seems like a genuine person that I could have a cup of coffee with tiwhout wanting to slap them" :D. So, statistically the odds are not in your favor, but there is always hope ;).

Strangly, I think it makes people feel better to think that everyone is subpar or idiots while they like to think they have the speciality of being above and beyond all that "rubbish". I am gulity of doing it myself but I try to curb that mentality because I don't think it's the real truth. We know ourselves deeply. Our faults and are good sides. We don't always get to see other's good sides.

Truth is, I don't think we are all that different from each other in those terms. It's great to think you are amazing. But I am sure there are many ladies out there, some that you might have gone out on dates with, that were also looking for that amazing man that fit into their model as well that thought herself amazing. There are alot of amazing people out there.

The trick is finding one that is amazing in terms as you as an indivdual define it. And that is what is difficult.Everyone wants someone charming, funny and intelligent. But there are many different ways to be those characteristics.

Guess what? EVERYONE -- men AND women -- feel they are not average. The trick is finding that special spark within any person. We all have it. What makes someone special is the patience and time spent to find that in other people...

I have to laugh at this a little. I am traveling to Edinburgh and Glasgow for vacation next month from San Francisco. Thinking to "spice up my vacation" a bit, I started filtering the profiles on my dating site to Scotland. I thought I might hit-up a guy to spend a day with me since I'm traveling alone and I have to say, from a California perspective, a LOT of the guys looked inbred to me.

Not saying you are, but the general look of the photos I was seeing looked a bit frightening. I almost immediately discount any profile of a guy taking a picture of himself in a mirror (speaks volumes if they don't a friend to take a decent face shot). Half of them talked about just sitting the pub and drinking with chums; not very exciting for a woman who wants a little adventure.

Posted

I will admit that I am also turned off by shots you can see that a man takes with the mirror in it. Not because I am turned off that he took it himself....it just comes off a little shallow. And I don't mind pictures that people take of themselves but sometimes its good to couple it with pictures taken in real life situations.

Also, I am turned off by guys that over talk themselves. It is good to be confident in who you are and know what you want. But if he is already lamenating that most women don't meet his expectations, I am not very motivated to try myself either. Because he is starting off with something negative, not positive to work towards.

What a nerve. I think I shall set my fiance on you. Nobody speaks about his cousin like that.

Then you probably need to get your travelling shoes on again. It's not as though it's all that expensive to get around Europe. You could go to France for a fiver from Edinburgh airport.

I don't know how well a big Scot would do with a prissy delicate Frenchie. Although, It depends where in France he goes. Paris itself is rather prissy. The actual country side of France holds a different mentality. At least, that is just my experiences.

Frenchmen and Scotswomen do well enough together, so I don't see why the reverse wouldn't be true. Although to be fair, I think Frenchmen do well with anything that moves and is female.

I will take your word for it. I was just speaking from my limited experiences.

Maybe I am a bawdy American but I could never be attracted to a Frenchmen. They seem more feminine and they enjoy wearing such tight pants.

Are they all really the same? Can you even tell them apart or do they all look the same too? Haha! Im not a huge fan of generalizations, of course...so had to put that in there.

I do have to say, I did have quite a thing for Flemmish men at one time (maybe still do, who knows..havnt run into any lately...) and was in awe with how petite the men tend to be, but with *huge* personalities...I found that really sexy for some reason. Of course I know thats only the ones Ive run into...I cant lump em all together and say theyre all the same till Ive met them all. But Id sure like to go to Belgium and have a hand at it... :D

I agree! It's better to be single than sorry. I enjoy my single life and I am not going to give it up just for the sake of settling down. By the time I do, it better be GOOD. lol @ the inbred looking women of Scotland. Is that you in the picture?

Whoa, whoa, whoa! You're engaged now? Why, and more importantly - why, has this been kept under wraps? And even more importantly, I was under the impression that you and I are getting married ;)!
