Time to let it go. Hes harmless and will continue to do whatever he needs to do to cope. He means well. It was just difficult to take while I was holding on to the hurt and disappointment.

I completely understand why NC is impossible in your situation, but you can clearly see why it's an absolute requirement. There can be no friendship, no interaction with an affair partner like this after the affair ends...because he'll continue to 'push the boundary' trying to get you to slip. I'm with you here OWL, it's one thing to have an A with an OW and decide that you cannot leave your wife and then end the affair. It's something else for the MM to feel entitled to keep tormenting the OW with lame and benign excuses to keep feeding his selfish oversized ego. JJ why didn't you say what you thought of saying??? Or each time you get a text from him, reply NOT IN SERVICE. Eventually he might believe that he isn't getting through....and stop. Because in reality, he isn't getting through. Good luck.

Took long enough.... and I havent heard from him since I did what I knew would stop him dead in his tracks. I think he's history folks!!! The last bout may have been what economists call the "dead cat bounce", if not for him then for me which is really all that matters.
