Stress, high levels, not just everyday stress cause me to over eat. I do it about once a week, its enough to make me feel sick and ruin my healthy goals. Any advice..........

You could join an overeaters anonymous group, or opt for one-on-one therapy.

Emotionally eating is considered an eating disorder. You have to learn to address the problems that are causing you to overeat and seek out alternative ways to deal with stress.

Find a therapist or counselor that is trained in eating disorders and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Hope this helps.

I think one on one would be best for me...Its only real bad stress that causes it and recently I have a had a ton...and its always certain foods too not just eating. Thanks!

You need to realize that food is only a temporary fix that won't solve your problem, and you need to find healthier ways to deal with stress: take a long walk, do yoga, call a friend, punch a punching bag, do some exercise, go for a run, clean your house, blare some music and dance your butt off, whatever. If you MUST munch, have something crunchy but healthy, like baby carrots. :)

I also have this problem from time to time. I do my best to prevent myself from driving to the fast food joints. At home I keep my fridge and cabinets full of healthy stuff. If you do end up with some emotional eating at least it will be good for you. My weakness is peanut butter. I go for too much
