When I go through a breakup as I am now and those thoughts creep in...."I can never live without her my life is over." "There will never be another one.."" I looked at my facebook friends tonight and realized I have three people in there who I felt about that way and laugh now..There was Kim in 8th grade my first crush..she rejected me then and I cried and cried. Now she has 4 kids and a family and we talk as friends and I laugh that I thought that way. There is Cathy from High School I used to drive by her house just to see her brushing her hair (not a stalker) and was in love with her for two years. Now she is a lesbian living with a woman who adopted a baby. My first real love Kristen in college went out for two years went to different colleges (wish this site was here in the 90s!) was heartbroken. She is now a hippie in San Francisco living in a tee pee and growing mushrooms in the park by Haight Ashbury. It made me feel great knowing that I thought these people controlled my life to the point where I thought it was over and now honestly I am not even attracted to any of them! Just a perspective from me you wont care about him or her in the future!

Great post Mike and yes its so true. We all kind of get into obsession mode over our ex's for a period of time but its good to look back and laugh at how we behaved juts after a break up. Even though there high school crushes you got over them like we will our adult relationships. great post.
