ate_the_paint Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 3 or 4 years ago my ex and I lived in a mid-sized industrial city in southern Ontario and I have fond memories of those times. We were pretty tight and had a great Christmas, good incomes, fun friends and lots of laughs. We eventually moved to Canada's west coast but I always liked reminiscing about that year. Recently, after being away for three years, I had the opportunity to go and visit some friends in that city and it was very weird. My ex and I broke up a year and a half ago but the impact of being there again was strange. Then I learned that she had not simply been cheating on me a year and a half ago, but she had cheated on me in that same town that I so enjoyed. In our apartment while I was at work, no less. And while we lived there she had taken a trip to visit her parents on Canada's Atlantic coast and it turns out she cheated on me there, too! All those fond memories of that year were smashed. It didn't hurt, really, because aside from the odd moment of missing her I stopped caring a while ago. Now I'm just kinda angry at being so badly disrespected. All those so-called 'good times' were imaginary! That romantic Christmas meant nothing. All those laughs were fake. All the songs and pictures that remind me of that year are a sham. Grrrr...weird how someone I haven't spoken to in over a year can still reach out through time and really p**s me off! I just wanted to rant a bit.
