shadowplay
"Hey Julie! Time for fist city!" You know it's going to happen. Whuh?? I was thinking of calling him Jules for short.
Lizzie60
Lili Rose is my favourite name for a girl. I also looooove Clémence and Clémentine. adorable.
shadowplay
We've decided on Bruce for a boy and either Lily or Penny for a girl. Penny is adorable. Lily is cute but more common.
GorillaTheater
Whuh?? I was thinking of calling him Jules for short. Jules isn't too bad. Nice "Pulp Fiction" connotations.
shadowplay
I've also been flirting with the idea of Gaylord for a boy. I think it's adorable. What do you guys think?
GorillaTheater
Gaylord <falls off chair laughing> How about Marcie?
silverfish
Oooh just watching pulp fiction - 2nd weird LS coincidence of the last day! Mia! Great name
Eve
How about Marcie? H'mmmmm, 'Marcie' is nice. I like that. Some fab name suggestions given here! I was thinking that maybe the race of the OP may count too within the selection process. 'Marcie', to me seems to sit across different races... if you get what I mean. Take care, Eve xx
Author TrustInYourself
Emelina. That's her thoughts. I'd prefer something more conservate with less of a latin/romance feel like Elle or Emma. Not sure here, we seem to just be relaxing. The main contention was my remark of it makes me cringe, lol. Gaylord for a boy is going to be hell for him in elementary through highschool. Better hope he grows up big, tough, and dangerous. I have maybe 2-7 days before this kid arrives. silverfish
It sounds like you are going in the same ish direction. What about Amelie (after the french film) . Emelina would just get shortened to 'Em' anyway or 'Lina' which is quite nice. The shortened version always has to be taken into consideration, cos all her friends will do it even if you don't! Prodigal Princess
I've also been flirting with the idea of Gaylord for a boy. I think it's adorable. What do you guys think? OMG, you stole my baby name! Now I'll have to go with my back-up name - Nigel. There were twin boys at our school named 'Donald' and 'Ronald'. Some parents can be beyond cruel. quankanne
bad names: My brother-in-law said that one of his patients was named Richard Head. The guys in his group counseling session had a field day with that one, calling him "Dick Head" ... til Joe told them to stop being so disrepectful and to treat Mr. Head nicely. Of course, they had a field day with THAT one! DH likes the idea of using family names, and wanted to combine our dad's names. I like the idea, though "Modesto" would sound kind of odd with our very Anglo last name. He goes, "Oh, we can just use a nickname, like your dad does, call him 'Mo.'" O-kay ... "Or, we *could* just call him 'Mo Bob' if you don't want to call him after your dad." Uh, no. Besides what if it's a girl? he gives me this straight face, then says, "She'll be Mo-Bobba" to the OP, even though your wife is hooked on a certain name, tell her that you'd like for the baby to arrive first so that you can see if the name matches her – she might be a Jenna or a Christine or a Maria, rather than the name your wife has picked out. If it comes down to it, use the name wife likes for one of the names and tell her as a compromise, you would like to knickname the baby. my one grandniece was called "Babs" for the longest time, even though it was nowhere near her given name! boldjack
I'm way past the naming game, but I had two rules, No boys names for girls(Morgan, Madison etc) and no names that would have to be defended. But I would add no Cutsy names either, I knew a girl in HS whose name was Poppet. WTF?

Oh my godness. I think that name is so cute. Infact, if my 3rd child was a girl.. the name I had picked was Emeline. Would have called her Emmi for short. Just had to share my thoughts here. Gaylord for a boy is going to be hell for him in elementary through highschool. Better hope he grows up big, tough, and dangerous. I just hope your last name is not Faucker.:lmao: Could not resist! Anyway, Best of luck with naming your little one. Mea:)

If she likes the name Emelina, you could totally call her Emma for short. :-) It will probably be easier for her to learn how to say Emma before she learns Emelina anyway.
