And how tall are you?

I'm 5 foot 11 but I just can't stand being around guys who are 6'1"+... I'm kind of an alpha male and I know how much more respect girls give them and it drives me up a wall... Like I hate life soo much sometimes because I'm not tall given I have every other good quality except for short fingers, and I could burry most of those tall "perfect" guys in terms of street smarts and masculinity...

How tall have your past boyfriends been?

soulsearch- I understand you getting frustrated with me... but one thing you have to understand is that all girls aren't like you. Height is a real issue for guys, especially those who are average height or below. Many smart and masculine guys I know that are 5'10" or under are usually not the most confident, all because of one thing: height. I can see it in their eyes. I'm not a troll, I'm just speaking my mind... even my 6 foot 1 father says all the time how he would do anything to be 3 inches taller.

If you really think that any girl who's with a guy shorter than 6' walks by taller men and sees them as better and more masculine, you're completely nuts. I've dated two really tall guys (6'5" and 6'3"ish), and they were both actually a bit too tall for me (5'3"). Now I'm with a guy who is 5'10", and he's probably actually stronger than both the other two put together hehe. I do want someone who is taller than me when I wear heels, but that's about it. It sounds like you have a really unhealthy fixation on this, and pretty inaccurate beliefs about it to boot.

Ugh, I hate heels, lol. I'm 5'4, and I've never had a problem getting girls, and honestly, if you're a little taller than me, it's not a deal breaker, my girlfriend is 5'5, but when she puts heels on, I just feel so damn short, lol. She's a sweetheart though and opts for less height most of the time when we go out. I just feel silly when she has to bend down to kiss me.

Mr. Stumpy,

I am 5 foot 3 inches, and my ideal guy would probably be just about your height maybe even a few inches shorter. Being a short girl, I have no problem with, I never really wanted to be a model anyway, and like most women, as wrong as it may be I would definitely prefer a guy to be taller than me...BUT I would not want a guy to be so tall that I have to stand on my tiptoes and he would have to bend down to kiss me, you know? some couples have really big height differences and are ok with it, but just as I would prefer a guy not to be a foot shorter than me, I would also prefer him to not be over 6 feet..and actually a few inches shorter would be ideal for me. There is really no added attractiveness to a guy that is tall, inches don't really add anything...I mean I find that actor dwarf Peter Dinklage (the guy who played the angry elf in Elf) to be very attractive (and also an awesome actor), though it's not really my thing, and ideally I would like a guy to be a few inches taller than me, simply to get that feeling of protectiveness when he wraps his arms around me.

Also some women prefer a guy who is very similar in height as them, just as I prefer to have that protective feeling, some women like to literally be able to dance cheek to cheek, if you will....maybe just 2 inches taller to allow for high heels, in a purely shallow way (it's also very much about culture and convention that women are expected to be able to wear at least 2 inch heels and be at least the same height as their man, and not taller)....so even in a purely shallow and conventional way, I would not say that taller women than me are out of your league either.

Actually in some parts of the world, you at 5, 11, would probably be considered an extremely tall person.

Also, Tom Cruise, one of the biggest movie stars ever, whatever your personal opinion of him (I like him as an actor, I think he is overrated as a movie star, but a little underrated as an actor)..his first wife (or was he married once before? have to google that later) Nicole Kidman is a tall goddess woman and he is just an average heighted man, perhaps even on the short side. Which meant that it was barely noticeable that she was just barely taller than him when she was in flats but when she was wearing heels, like movie stars basically have to when they go on the red carpet, it was more noticeable. But hey they were a gorgeous couple, and now with Katie Holmes, he is a part of a gorgeous couple again, but they have the same problem.

Who really cares, height has nothing to do with masculinity or attractiveness.

I think it's so suave of an alpha male to ask women what height they prefer ;)

I'm 5'5.

My current partner is 6'2. My first boyfriend was 6'6. My first husband was 5'8. I've dated everything in between. It doesn't matter. But your attitude most CERTAINLY matters to women.

I think any height is totally fine (okay within reason say no shorter than 5'10"). What's really sexy is how you treat a lady. There's a big difference from being a male and being a man....one is just gender and the other is !!!

When's the last time you've seen a guy stand up from a dinner table as soon as his lady stands up, now that's a true gentlemen.

The only thing a taller man is able to do, better than a short guy, is reaching for that top shelf :lmao:

Seriously. How does being taller than another man gives you confidence? By 'looking down' on someone? that gives you confidence? Doesn't make any sense.

Several of my closest friends are 6 feet tall, up to 6'4'.

The one I hold dear the most is 6'3' and has as much confidence as a crocodile among crocodiles shoes, if his girlfriend tells him to jump. If she did the same to me, I would instead push her off. I've been rejected before and if it was for my size, though luck for the lady she just missed out on the Prince of Poets. I don't start ressenting her or my size, I move on.

When these guys and I are together, I'm the one who gets most female attention and it's not because I'm good - looking(if being all bones is good looking :lmao:) but because I smile at them, I flirt: I go and talk to them, while my friends just stare there and wait for what, the world to end?

Being tall doesn't mean the females are going to you or they are going to instantly fall at your feet if you go and talk to them. Being tall is just that, height. You are taller than someone else.

Don't care about what women say. If they say they want a man - minimum height so and so - you figure she's looking for a private bodyguard :lmao:, just move on to another female. You don't want to end dead do you?:lmao:

You'll eventually find a woman who will eventually like your height.

Don't stress over women, why should you? There are literally billions of them out there and the best thing of all is that they are all different and so are their tastes.

I'm 5'7' WITH shoes on and I never had a trouble keeping any girlfriend I had, happy. Sure, when it was time to reach for something out of my reach, I'd call for someone taller than me, other than that... :lmao:

One of my ex- girlfriends complained about my height but, all the other guys, taller than me, never had the nerve to ask her out. So much for that confidence, heh?

I went out there, knowing that she probably wanted a guy taller but, ding - dong!

Got the girl! She was the same height as I, and I loved it. Eventually she came to appreciate me for what I made her feel, not for acting(being tall) her personal guard :lmao:

I don't think I'd enjoy dating a woman who enjoys wearing high heels. Her usage of the item makes me think she's insecure about her height. Insecurity in a woman is turn off, instantly. Secondly, I hate the sound those shoes make.

The last female I dated was 4 ft 9½ and believe me, I found it quite odd. I felt more like her father(and she a child) because of the size difference. I can imagine how weird out I would feel, dating these females If I was more than 5'7' tall :lmao:

PS: A Human Alpha male is not a male, muscled, tall and all that. There are endless subtypes of Alpha males in the Human Kingdom. Bill Gates is a creative Alpha. Alexander The Great was a Military Alpha and so on.

You can be an Alpha too, if that's so much important to you. How? By making yourself your top priority.;)

I'll say it one more time, a 5'8" or 5'9" guy can be really hot if he is built stronger than me and has bigger hands/arms... which isn't difficult, because I'm a very petite person.

just curious, do you see hand size as a priority? cause i have really short fingers, and even though my overall hand is the same size as most guys, my massive palm and short fingers make my hand look TINY compared to pretty much everyone. do you think thats a big deal?

No. I saw your post before and your hands are very normal

I see a mind deformity honestly. And I don't get the height thing. Who's care how tall a man is unless they are significantly shorter than their partner???

Be glad you are not some abnormally sized person. Also, your hands nor fingers aren't too short. I have no clue. Like I said this must be a joke.

Who cares, you mean?

I like men who are about 5'4.

Posted

I don't care about a man's height much. The only way it would be an issue would be if a man didn't like it when I wore heels because it made me taller than him. I'm almost 5'4 and my fiance it 6'.

Respect is earned regardless of height.

But this isn't the first or last thread on height. Guys need to stop worrying about how tall they are and focus on the women who are interested in them for WHO they are, not what they are.

I'm 5'10" and you can ask my friends, I walk around like I am 6'4" - lol. It's all about confidence and self-esteem. If your levels are healthy you'll do just fine. In fact, walking around the Gas Lamp last night I saw several guys with dates taller than they are.

Don't worry about your height. It's a non-issue to the RIGHT woman.

That article basically states that all women don't date tall men because there aren't enough tall men to go around, and that women also value a man's career choice and ability to provide. Basically women want the tallest and wealthiest they can get?:laugh::rolleyes:

Try being 5'4".

Seriously, you're right about confidence. But I'm not sure its entirely, if at all, related to height. I have rarely dated girls that were shorter than me. Last ex was 5'7" and I've gone after 5'9". At the time they said I made them feel smaller than me.

But, I was a lot more confident back then. Felt taller, felt stronger. "Got to get my cool back!" Undercover Brother.

I do miss the man I once was. Can't even approach girls shorter than me right now. My confidence is at an all time low. Working on it.

In short, no pun intended (maybe), I'm in agreement with Lusitan.

Well, I would feel used up if she was interested in me for my height(women seem to feel protected by taller boyfriends)or my money(ability to support her or children), i am a meal - ticket of sorts? If a woman, wants me under those two enviroments, she can whisper in the wind because I'm gone and so should any man who has self - esteem.

I'm not attracted to a woman because she can make babies(therefore she's a baby factory and not a human being?:lmao:) and surely not because she can give me sex.

And since so many marriages, to these taller and richer males, end up in divorce after a few years(the ladies start the process of divorce) I would say that being tall and being rich is more of a problem than a blessing.
