Isolde Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Well, lucky for me, I don't adhere to any religion, and hence, don't buy into this "impurity" you're peddling (which illogically presupposes that there is some sort of "purity"). As far as (actual) morality goes, of course there are people who are moral. I'm a moral person, as I hope you are. I said I didn't want to have a theological debate in this forum, as to do so would be... ineffectual. I have absolutely no problem poking holes in your posts though. I am not peddling or even making any kind of argument for original sin. I am saying that people have free will and have a VERY big role in evil and other not so pleasant things, and most religions have some kind of conception of this, call it impurity or bad karma or immorality or whatever you want. I'm saying people are accountable and bring suffering upon other people. You clearly ignore the fact that we agree on this. I'm saying that horrible things happen to good people through NO fault of their own. Where we differ is merely in your argument that because of this, God logically can't exist. And never once did I say that your beliefs were wrong. I won't say anything more on this.
Isolde Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I would go further and say that the dating forum is not a stable ground for not only debate, but the airing of religious beliefs period. They aren't relevant at all towards the topic of dating, and their mention should be castigated immediately in the form of moderation. If they aren't, then the scrutinization and criticism of them will result. I think we should just move all of these threads (conversion, etc.) to the spirituality section.
bluewolf17 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I think we should just move all of these threads (conversion, etc.) to the spirituality section. Yes. That section needs to see some action!
Author dreamergrl Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 I must say, I'm curious as to how many people actually think waiting for marriage to have sex because God said so, is a good reason to wait. Further more, how many religious people waited or are waiting until marriage?
Untouchable_Fire Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I must say, I'm curious as to how many people actually think waiting for marriage to have sex because God said so, is a good reason to wait. Further more, how many religious people waited or are waiting until marriage? I think it's a great reason to wait... and I respect it alot. Doesn't mean I'm going to do it. It would just seem... fake... for me to try and put that genie back in the bottle.
Island Girl Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I must say, I'm curious as to how many people actually think waiting for marriage to have sex because God said so, is a good reason to wait. Further more, how many religious people waited or are waiting until marriage? I'm sure you'll get a lot of different responses to this. I wouldn't have ever said that. And if a guy said that to me I'd dump him. :bunny:
