BUENG1 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 When applying for jobs, what is oldest you will apply too? 2 weeks? A month? I usually don't reply to ads more than 3 weeks old. How long until you assume either they've made an offer or just forgot to take the ad down. When looking at my jobs internal site, I see jobs that are over 2 years old.
Thaddeus Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 HR folks usually aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer. It's very likely that those 2-year-old postings simply have either been forgotten about or the responsibility for keeping them updated is getting shuffled around between coffee breaks and HR's infamous 3-day work weeks. Your 3-week timeline is perfectly appropriate.
Artair Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 In my experience it NEVER hurts to apply. The very least you get put on file. And sometimes that person that they may have just hired falls through.
