Yes, this is old, but timeless. :D

Yikes!! Never has six degrees of separation been scarier!

Sorry but care to tell me what this means?

I think it must be a Toronto thing then? I've heard both Italian and Greek men sound exactly like this, then dated a Greek guy who was more from northern Ontario (apparently there is a big Greek community in northern ontario) and though he had a faint accent it was nothing like this guy.

Apparently, his real name is James N Sears, unless he changed his name to an English sounding one and his real name is Greek? Or he does the accent to match the name Dimitri? who knows... he's such a creepy nut case....

His accent is very Canadian.

Listen to the beginning of the first message: "Yahithere", the Canadian "sorey" for sorry, and then an "aboot". Those are all very Canadian.

I'm not hearing any Brooklyn in there at all. People in Chicago don't sound much like Canadians. Their vowels are different.

Gahhhh...I went back and listened to it again. I want my two minutes back!

Anyways, the words that sound like a Greek accent to me, based on my experiences are:

rushed, trouble, but, interested and left.

The words that sound American are:

six, opportunity, land, stupid and nobody

It`s true that overall, he has more Canadian intonations, than American...but...it`s not solely Greek or Canadian. Perhaps it`s the Toronto thing, since some Torontonians sound a little American to me.

Well, Dimitris is the equivalent of James in Greek. His last name was probably Siropoulos or something and he shortened it to Sears. Making long Greek names pronouncable by shortening them is a very common practice with Greeks who live abroad. Who cares anyway? This guy is a class A fruit cake. And very resourceful.

Oh, that makes pefect sense then!!!!

what I meant by the six degrees of separation comment is that it's a small world there is always a link to someone and sometimes people are closer to us than we think, and with online it seems the gap closes even more. It's just kind of scary considering your Myspace result.

Though, in all probability it is just that someone in your network added some fake profile pretending to be this guy. Myspace has a lot of fake profiles, I was just doing some research for work on blogger lawsuits and corporate defamation earlier today and found that a bunch of students started a fake myspace account of their teacher and made her out to be lesbian all these other big lies about her personal life. They were sued but myspace got away scott free, moral of the story is who knows what's what online...it's creepy.

Oh, my, you mean that not all of you got this "he is in your extended network" message when you clicked onto his myspace page? I thought it was some kind of scam or spam or whatever. This is really scary considering I am Greek. I wonder if I ever met this guy on a Greek dating sight or even talked to him. Yikes. How absolutely creepy!!!

Shadow is right, it is a very good reason to stay single nowadays. So many weirdos all around us.

Thanks for replying butcher's hook.

marlena, I clicked on the myspace link too and got the same thing. I don't have a myspace account and use a proxy server. Don't worry about it.

Oh I don't know I haven't tried, plus I don't have a Myspace account. Did this happen when you looked at the link posted in the OP? Let me see....

By the way, and I don't want to scare you further but when I had first heard this recording I circulated it to my FB friends more than a year ago and one of my friends said he had a profile on POF a while back (yet another reason not to internet date) . Can't remember how the story went I tried to go back to the comments on my page on FB and now I can't find them maybe the system purges old coversations after a while on FB anyone know about that? It was from before when FB used to allow you to post video/youtube links to your friends. Now it's back again but for a while it was denied maybe that's why I can't find it?

Edit:

Are you kidding me? I thought this was settled. Many posters got the same message. Anyway, who cares? Just another over-inflated Greek male ego! I'm quite used to them really!

The funniest part was during the second message when he told her if she was psychologically normal to call him; I'm pretty sure you would have to be extremely psychologically UNnormal to call him back.

It's only an issue if it affects them negatively, but a very consistent theme with men that are compulsively picking up women is that they're very lonely.

That isn't very true, because most players, etc, are married men. Why would a married man pick women up, when he has a women to talk with, have sex with, etc. Many of these men just don't value women, and why would they? Women flock to them.
