My fiancee of 6 years has been cheating on me for the last 8 months. I moved to a new city recently and dont have any friends here apart from the people that I work with. I dont really have anyone to talk to about it. We decided to take some time off to think about things and whether we have what it takes to rebuild our relationship. I cant seem to stay away from calling her though cause she is the only person I can talk to. Im thinking of starting to keep a diary but it seems like writing my emotions just keeps taking me into a deeper and deeper hole. Has anyone used a diary to get over a relationship? Does it help or should I try to just block my thoughts and get over it?

I found that the easiest way to deal with cheating was to just let everything in terms of that relationship go and rebuild myself into an even better person. You have to keep in mind that this process won't just happen over night and since you've been together 6+ years it maybe several months before you're really able to cope without an upset stomach. That said, writing down or talking about it will just remind you of the past and cause you more grief & anger. So it's best to just try and let it all go.

Also, don't let a cheater's actions degrade your character! The last thing you want to do is to morally question and blame yourself for her actions. As negative and life changing of an event as cheating is, you should learn from this experience and use this new found knowledge in future relationships.
