Yes, of course... but I've never had a wet dream about my car!

I drive the crappiest car. I prefer to spend my money on other things rather than on a car, so I wouldn't judge a guy on what he drives. If I'm going to judge someone superficially I'm more likely to judge them on their clothes and style than on their car.

Me neither but then, I bought the E46 I wanted, and you bought your Mini.

I do salivate about serious performance cars like the Koenisegg CCX-R!

I've never even heard of that (brand? make?) of car!

Now you know why I judge a man by his carflesh. I like cars and love driving something that responds to what I want it to do. I like men who can appreciate cars and who know how to drive.

She knows and I had to tease her for it. SSG knows I'm not being serious.

Do you enjoy driving alphamale? Have you ever drag raced or autoX'd?

i had a 1999 Corvette Convertible, red with tan top for 4 years. 350 horsepower under the hood and zero to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds :lmao:

It's no match for the C6s. ;)

I don't care, but I still find it amusing and cute that my quiete and mellow and defensive driving gf drives a BMW.

In general, i really wouldn't care what car anybody drives as long as it is sensible - which means that, much like clothing, it is appropriate for the way of life they live. Conversely, obsessing with the car (or clothing), or making conclusions about me on the basis of the car I drive is a big ol' red flag .

More generally, many people in this country seem to drive cars they can't afford. I make a quite decent middle class salary, and as much as I appreciate good cars (and clothes ) it would never occur to me to pay more than 5-10k for a car. As a result, I drive an awesome 10 year old lexus (which IMO is a much better value than a brand new 20k GM esp financed.) Related, to the extent a person's car enters my dating calculus, I would consider not so much the car as such, but whether the person has made the dubious decision to mortgage solid chunk of 5 years of their future income into a rapidly depreciating asset/accessory ;).

Depends on what stage of life the guy is at. Car should not be a measurement for any 20ish/early 30ish man who just started working on his career. I have seen many graduate/freshly out of law school students driving a rundown car. Their priority should be paying off college loans, etc etc.

However, mid-30ish men with an established career should be able to afford a well-kept Honda or a Toyota in my opinion...I am not asking for a BMW/Audi/any other highend model. A clean, well-maintained Civic/Camry/Prius/whatsoever that falls into the affordable range. It is like wearing an appropriate outfit for work to me...except in cities like SF/NYC where the public transportation can cover everything; I do prefer walking over driving.

To be fair, I admit that I do have an interest in cars. It feels nice driving certain cars. I still want an AWD only because of my early interest in WRC (I was sad Subaru withdrawing from this year's...) even though it is highly unnecessary and fuel-wise inefficient and has bad resale value in California...

As a BMW corner cutter, if you haven't yet seen

, enjoy. The screaming is from the solid mount differential and straight cut sequential gearbox. Note how he jumps about three cars at the start and that no one comes close to passing. It's a E36 320stw.

Now, on-topic, Rolf could be a flamboyant, loud, brash, cocky 'typical' race car driver or he could be the quiet, studious, confident guy who gets the job done. Which guy impresses the girls? In the video, you'll see some hand motions which suggest who will be impressed ;)

I don't care. As long as he has wheels, I don't care what kind of car/truck it is. The guy I'm seeing now drives a black...uh...some kind of beater truck. LOL But he has it all special-equipped (in his words) to go 4X4ing. Racing seats, suspension, etc, etc. He loves that thing, I can tell. I think it's more important that he/she be comfortable/happy with what they drive. I'm happy with my wheels.

Well said!!! People get themselves buried in debt and make their own lives difficult. Over inflated standard of living is precisely why we're in this economic mess in the first place.

I've seen this clip before but it was well worth watching again. He's an amazing driver with a highly modified vehicle. The E36 is an extension of his will, sticking firmly to the road!

I was trying to figure out what those hand gestures mean, since he did it at different times, once when he blew by someone, another time when he was blocked. I'm guessing he's driver type 1, expending unnecessary energy for those hand gestures, except that his shifting and driving style is really tight, with no wasted movements.

Regardless, I will openly admit to being highly impressed by his driving skills.

As long as she doesn't drive a Toyota Scion xB or Honda Element, I couldn't care less what she drives.

I actually have been in a Honda Element. I liked it pretty well. What do you not like about it?

It's one of the ugliest car's I've ever seen. I like my cars like I like my women - not boxy, but curvy, slim, and loud when I step on the right spot. ;)

I was seeing this girl for about a month a year ago. After we stopped seeing each other, I saw her driving in a Scion one day and just laughed my ass off. I just don't like that look at all.

I've rode in an Element a few times. I actually sort of liked, but I wouldn't purchase one myself. The shape is not exactly what I go for in a car. I wouldn't describe it as ugly though.

Form follows function. xBs and Elements are both excellent cars. Don't rule them out just because of aesthetics.

Does form follow function? Or is it fashion before function? :p

Honda Element and 3 door xB = butt ugly

That is all!

There are plenty of cars out there where you can have both form and function.

Otherwise, we'd all be buying older civics, doing an H22 engine swap, throwing in big mother turbos and running 10 s. cars! :p

What would you rather have? An MKIV or the above Civic?

(Hush carhill, I know which one you would pick. :p)

Well, there is this odd-looking car with the name of Veyron ;)
