Well, I don't feel like nitpicking about who works out more, based on one pic of a bunch of celebrities. I think getting back to the original point, all these actresses are skinny to slender, and most women can't necessarily be that thin and wouldn't look good that thin. It's all about body type and frame.

I agree..

I think they both look like they're in their forties, which is a shame.

And you never answered me...who is AJ?

I am guessing Angelina Jolie. and she has aged a lot in the past couple years. She is very skinny.

I think she meant JA - Jennifer Aniston.

Hey, sorry, this thread is moving so fast that I didn't scroll down far enough! :o

It's Angelina Jolie.

I love this avvy. Thanks for it!

Kate Winslet is beautiful, has a well proportioned and toned, yet curvy body, and also has charm and a positive demeanor. While she doesn't look young for her age, she'll probably age well. She's another who's slimmed down in recent years, but she still looks filled out and relaxed, not all uptight, if that makes sense.

That's the boner material, right there :lmao:. A naturally tiny/skiny girl can easily exude the same vibe (angelina jolie), but not if you force it (Posh Beckham :sick::sick:).

Indeed, that's why I'm so gaga over my filipino girlfriend - she's got a very tiny frame, but also plenty of softness & curves - all in a package under 120 lbs :laugh::love::laugh:)

I agree with some of the posters here in saying that "skinny" tends to have a negative connotation--unhealthy--compared to "slim" or "slender"--but it seems to be the term that's used most often no matter which one would most accurately describe someone.

I'm naturally slim; I have a high metabolism and didn't develop until about halfway through high school. I am by no means unhealthy. I've had comments directed toward me asking if I eat, if I have an eating disorder, etc--just really mean, ignorant people who didn't believe that my body looks the way it does with no effort. I used to hate my body because of those comments but I've grown to love and appreciate it over the last few years, and ignore people who want to try and make me feel horrible about it for whatever reason.

I don't agree. AJ is gorgeous and I don't think she looks like she's in her 40's.

(Yw, on the avvy! Can I have it back now? )

Thank you. Boy can I relate.

We women need to stop judging ourselves and each other so harshly, don't we?

Oh, don't get me wrong, I still think that AJ is gorgeous. As for the 40's thing, I do but then I tend to gauge women based on my Mom and aunts, which is kind of unfair I guess.

(:p Nope but you're welcome to use it, anytime!)

Ahh skinny schminny. I agree that lean and toned and am going to add CONFIDENT is far more attractive than skinny and obsessive.

Blah blah blah de blah.....

Celebs get PAID to be a certain size. They have enough money to ensure that they have personal trainers, chefs, surgeons, beauticians, dieticians and stylists at their beck and call 24-7.

Doesn't mean they are necessarily attractive to those of us who live in the real world.

I think most of todays "hot" celebs have that look of hardness that TBF described.

It must get exhausting and pretty stressful to have to think about how you look all the time. (esp if you are surviving on bugger all calories per day)

Megan Fox is 23 I think and she looks waaaayyy older. I think she has overdone the botox already and wears far too much makeup. She looks hard and overdone IMO.

keira Knightley is revolting looking I think, but some people think she is hot, thats fine.

I have said this before, but I currently weigh the MOST I have ever weighed in my life, (OK, so I am pregnant) but I have a butt, HUGE boobs, my thighs rub together at the top and I can't see my feet anymore because of my belly.. I sure am not skinny by any stretch of the imagination.

And my H still thinks I am one hot mama and can't keep his hands off me.

Anyway- skinny slim chubby fat, there will always be people that find one thing attractive over another.

Actually in the last movie I saw her in (some idiotic assassin thing) she was looking a little rough. She's definitely past her pull date.

PS- I don't think that "skinny" has a negative connotation- if thats who you are naturally then make the most of it, some people will find you attractive and others won't, thats life.

Its when women try and try and try (to the detriment of their self confidence) to be something they naturally are not built to be that I think is the "negative" part.

Don't worry, the fatties are just jealous :). the image of what's percieved "normal" is so skewed by the epidemic obesity, that healthy slim chicks need to put up with passive agressive comments . If it's any consolation, 95% of all guys will want to do bad things to you if that's you in the picture

Well the girl in your avatar looks to be built similar to my GF, so if that's you, you know what *I* think of your type of build.

The following image might help illustrate my view:

I consider the women in the middle "skinny". The one on the left is average, and the one on the right I would describe as "curvy" or "thick". My preference in this picture is for the size 12 or 16 bodies.

With that said, I haven't seen many women that wear a size 12 or 16 IRL that are shaped like those women. They all have hourglass shapes, so they are all attractive to me (with the size 8 having the least appealing body).

Exactly (in regards to the bolded part). What an idealized way of portraying those sizes when they tend to look a lot messier.

Personally I think the model in the middle is by far the most appealing.

Tillie, size 8, is best. The 16 is pretty porky, the 12 is OK but I would try to avoid an LTR with her, she's probably gonna bloat into something terrible.

Agree. I think most men would find the middle most attractive.

In fact I'm almost certain if you did a poll of American men the majority would favor the middle girl. That ad (or whatever it is) is BS.

They do like them a bit porkier in the South, don't they? :p

I'm guessing you're not a "skinny girl" by that response. I've got my standards and I don't think it's your place to validate or invalidate them.

Skinny does not mean attractive... There are so many variations

I agree with you. Thin but toned is much more attractive to me than a woman who is skinny but does not have any discernible muscle tone.

My experience has been that there are a disproportionate number of hotties in Texas, I'm assuming warm weather and all that oil money has a lot to do with it. The worst place to go so far has been Wisconsin, it's like everyone there has somehow contracted a disease that causes them to swell ....
