Soul Bear Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Ever had a Mr or Ms Guinea Pig? My last 2 ex's, most serious relationships of my life, have both been psychology phd graduates.... 2 other ladys I met who want to go out are also phschology graduates..... Mr Guinea Pig?
Author Soul Bear Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 I'm 24. - the ex-ex is a phd graduate, the other 3 are masters I just find it a bit strange
xpaperxcutx Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 One of my friends had a pair of guinea pigs, but she was no psych major. In fact, she's not even studying to be a psych. Maybe in your situation, it was merely coincidence.
Starshine Black Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 You must date a lot older, unless PhDs are easier to obtain in Scotland lol. But they may have had guinea pigs because there is a specific side to psychology that deals with the minds of rodents. A lot of tests and studies revolve around them.

If you're insinuating that i'm a rodent- then you're a tw@ You must date a lot older, unless PhDs are easier to obtain in Scotland lol.- I did date a lot older, my ex ex (the now phd) is 29, my recent ex is 25 and the other 2 girls are 25 and 27
RichGuyy Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I'm 24. - the ex-ex is a phd graduate, the other 3 are masters I just find it a bit strange Psychology is just a very popular major for women, that's all. Of course, unlike the business-major girls (the $mart ones), the psych girls can't find jobs upon graduation, so they go on for the MA, PhD...
EddieN Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Psychology is just a very popular major for women, that's all. Of course, unlike the business-major girls (the $mart ones), the psych girls can't find jobs upon graduation, so they go on for the MA, PhD... Yup. I know many girls who go for the easy psych major just to get a high GPA. Though they may fancy themselves scientists, they're not even close.
Starshine Black Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Richguyy I am currently going for my PhD in Psychology. Rest assured, I weighed my options heavily between psychology and business. I want you to be 100% sure, the intelligent ones aren't the business majors. Shuffling numbers is nothing compared to stopping a loved one of yours from killing themselves. I saved 3 peoples lives throughout my life. I failed at saving the 4th. Managing numbers just didn't rank quite as high on my priorities anymore.
RichGuyy Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Rest assured, I weighed my options heavily between psychology and business. I want you to be 100% sure, the intelligent ones aren't the business majors. Hi Starshine Black, congratulations on being a PhD candidate. You know very well that the "smarts" I was referring to does not correspond to the "intelligence" you are talking about... I think Geoffrey Miller has even come up with a new MQ measure -- Mating Intelligence. Shuffling numbers is nothing compared to stopping a loved one of yours from killing themselves. I saved 3 peoples lives. Managing people and numbers just didn't rank quite as high on my priorities anymore. Agreed, agreed, and agreed. However, a PhD is preparation for original research. It has nothing to do with saving people's lives (unless you mean saving your advisor's academic life with more publications). I find your vocation very honorable -- it just doesn't require a PhD.
Starshine Black Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Well, I like you for at least acknowledging the importance of saving lives. If utterer of lies were here, he would chastise even that.
boldjack Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Dude, I think you need to start dating Strippers or Cocktail Waitresses.
tami-chan Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Dude, I think you need to start dating Strippers or Cocktail Waitresses. LOL!!!! The Business Majors are THE smart ones? since when? they're a dime a dozen! Can't you get that degree from Devry or online? ...I kid, I kid...peace...

boldjack Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Business majors are too dull to exist. Psych Majors are bat-sh*t crazy. You want somebody less pretentious. Philosophy or Anthropology Majors are best, they will do anything.
Starshine Black Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I'm a psych major, and by the very definition of crazy, I do not apply.
boldjack Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 It depends, Starshine. Are you good crazy or bad crazy.
tami-chan Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Business majors are too dull to exist. Psych Majors are bat-sh*t crazy. You want somebody less pretentious. Philo majors..they are annoying..."i know life is so full of questions but can I just please finish drinking my tea without you loudly sighing and asking "what's it all about, Alfie?" I think Anthro is VERY exciting and interesting...I would have loved being an anthro major...
boldjack Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Yes Tami, that's true, but on the other hand you can talk a Philo into anything.
