Music video channels ruin relationships!!! Don't you guys think so???

How would you ladies feel if your man spent HOURS a day watching those skimpily-dressed babes on MTV dancing their booty off? How would you feel if he watches them when he's supposed to be working, and would rather watch them than have sex with you? How would you ladies feel if your bf came up to you one day and said, 'Beyonce is so HOT, why can't you be more like her??'

Don't you ladies feel that men who indulge in watching fake boobs and fake booty bouncing on the screen are weak men who can't appreciate the woman in front of them?

Don't you ladies feel that MTV is ruining relationships all over the world and that the solution for that...

Would be for monogamous couples NOT to watch MTV???

Don't you???

In not so many words, pretty much yep!

How about women that go ga-ga over hawt, lean men dancing in video clips?!

Honestly, I'd have to wonder about his tastes in general if he watches MTV. I can't imagine myself with anyone who likes that stuff - the music or videos, regardless of what is in the videos.

I'd not date him on general principle. Call me a music snob, but I just can't connect with a man who connects with (IMO) garbage like that.

WRONG as well! We're disrespecting our partners because there's no way they can compete with those hawt lean men who can sing dreamily to boot!:eek::eek::eek:

Thought you'd say that. ;)

Good point. :p Maybe replace 'MTV' with 'music channel of your choice' ?

I would say "I will, as soon as you start earning the money that Jay-Z does.":lmao:

Well you really can't blame it on MTV videos. There are always going to be beautiful girls for men to look at. Even on the news channels (CNN, etc.) it seems you have to be gorgeous to be an anchor.

Am I the only guy on the planet that thinks she's an overfed, talentless diva created by a committee of record company executives?

It is all a product of the American War Machine. They wish to display inequality, as in a real woman is unequal to one on television. This creates division: inequality. I have found the answer to why relationships are so hard these days: inequality. MTV serves as an intoxicant for the general population to remain divided among INEQUALITY. We all want to meet our equals and fall in love with our equals, but when a small group of men enslave an entire nation, this is not possible, thus you have continuous war to further promote inequality and hatred towards one another.

It is not your fault that dating is so hard these days, but it is YOUR fault if you do not wake up and take that first step that to achieve peace and end the War Machine you must recognize equality in everyone.

And I thought *you'd* say that. Excellent. We both established what we thought the other would say and it's done alot to aid in the conversation.

I don't watch much TV, but doesn't MTV not play like any music videos anymore?

I'd be concerned if my SO spent that much time watching MTV, period! ...or any channel, for that matter (barring long movies or sports). Forgetting the whole aspect of comparing professionally produced singers to regular Joes & Janes, if someone is that enraptured with television on a regular basis*, what do they need me around for? I don't date so that I can have someone else to watch television with!

*Of course, everyone has their favourite programs and I have no problem with that. But you only get one or two that you must watch, not ten.

I think you're coming off as very insecure. However, your boyfriend asking why you can't be more like Beyonce is just ridiculous. Ask him, "Why can't you be more like 50 cent [or whoever the current hip-hop heartthrob is]? I guess we both have to settle for a second-rate partner!" HAHAHA, that ought to put him in his place.

Secondly, your man's taste in music/entertainment is abominable. How can he watch that crap to begin with?! There's something seriously wrong with him if he spends hours watching that drivel. I think you should find a less douchey boyfriend.

No, I don't feel insecure when my man looks at half-naked celebrities. They don't count as real people. ;)

MTV isn't ruining relationships, it's the loser boyfriend/girlfriend in the relationship that's ruining it.

I don't watch music videos much at all, but of course I can recognize when I see an attractive man or woman, I'm not blind (neither is my partner). However, I can't imagine wishing my bf were more like some celebrity and I also can't imagine being with someone who felt the same.

If you feel insecure because of a crappy station like MTV, then you should ditch the dude. MTV is nothing to be upset about.

I think you guys are missing a lot of well-placed sarcasm. :( Maybe referring to the countless porn threads might help enlighten you.

don't worry, I picked up on it. But more generally, music video channels ruin life as we know it! mostly reality TV crap nowadays anyway.

Damn, you got me good. :lmao::o

I like porn, anyway. I'm watching some right now involving unnatural acts with fruits and vegetables.

Everybody knows you can't see videos on MTV anymore! Such is life....

But I still agree with the OP because of the stupid reality shows they put on there that glorify vapid women and douchebag guys. Competitions even for who can be the trashiest hoochie or the biggest selfish a**hole to their GF!

BET does this crap too. Who can be the most ridiculous and embarrassing stereotype of a black person possible seems to be the theme on most of their programming.

WTF!

While I've gotta agree with Sally4sara...And I must admit that I used 'MTV' because it was the last music channel that I ever watched (at 14.. what's the current one called anyway?)...

Guys, guys!!! You're all going off-topic!!!!

Music videos are bad and the bane of ALL couples because they allow men to immerse themselves in a world of fantasy where they can satisfy their own selfish cravings and insecurities by looking at nearly-nude women, at the expense of the poor real woman who is standing by their side!!!

Agree/disagree??

:p:p

All right, all right! Music videos are the bane of all relationships! We should also keep our men off the beach, due to the immoral number of scantily-clad, false-titted, gym-junkie women parading their flesh around to remind our men of what they can only wish they had. And movies. All those attractive actresses making our men question what the hell they're doing with a dog like us. No more movies allowed in my house, PERIOD.

Yeah girl you soooo totally got that right! Bikinis were designed with only one thing in mind: To satisfy and please men. What kind of man allows himself to view girls in bikinis and expects his wife to just put up with it?! Back in my father's days, men were REAL men who only had eyes for his wife when they went to the beach and wore blinders so he could only see the woman in front of him: HER.

If only men nowadays could be like that!

I was pulled in at first. But it hit me somewhere between here:

How would you ladies feel if your bf came up to you one day and said, 'Beyonce is so HOT, why can't you be more like her??'

and here:

Don't you ladies feel that men who indulge in watching fake boobs and fake booty bouncing on the screen are weak men who can't appreciate the woman in front of them?

And then the smiley dudes at the end helped, too. And I'm sleep deprived! Do I get a prize?

MTV2 or VH1...****. Is it sad that I know that? I don't know what CHANNEL they're on. I just know OF them. And I NEVER inhaled.

Yeah...or like the guy that kept downing a beer and a shot and looking in his shirt pocket. Same routine - beer, shot, look in the pocket. Somebody asked him what he was doing. "I have a picture of my wife in there and when she starts to look good, I go home."

I don't think MTV ruins relationships.

I think that any man who would rather watch any sort of music video instead of having sex with his SO is the issue - NOT the music station.

He's the idiot - not MTV.

So our R would end, because I have no desire to have a relationship with an idiot.
