DSM2709 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Does anyone know anything about this company? I guess it suppose to be a singles only events company. I was just curious to know how much it cost to join, is it expensive?
Drew2073 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I filled out an inquiry form online on Monday, gave my cell # and they still have left no message. Their website doesn't give any set membership cost, so I assume that it may be a "per diem / per event" cost and not a set fee.
Author DSM2709 Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 Well, I did the same as you and within a couple of hours someone did contact me, and they set me up for an interview today. I live about an hour or so away though from their office, it would be better if they would just tell me over the phone how much it's gonna cost to join. I would hate to waste gas, especially if the membership fee is outrageous. The events themselves are prioced between free and $25.00. Some of the more extravagant events will cost more. I just want to know what the membership fee is.
SoulSearch_CO Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Did some Googlin' for ya: Watch out this club! They are not very ethical. When I signed up, the sales person told me that I could try the membership, that I could cancel it if I don't like it. So I signed it. But in the contract, in fine print, it's almost impossible to cancel membership, and you may end up paying $400 for interview fee even you can cancel the membership. Not only that, when I told the office the story, instead of correcting the unethical sales behavior, they said my signature is on the contract hence I must pay it. So far, I have paid almost $1000 toward a $3595 membership fee without using the service for a year. So I stopped paying for it a few months ago. Now they send me a letter threatening to send my account to debt collectors. This is the text about the cancellation policy in my contract signed in 2007: " Your right to cancel your membership. Any cancellation must be in writing by certified mail, return receipt requested. You understand and agree that E&A, except as specified in this paragraph or as the law requires, does not grant, and you shall not request refunds, cancellations or revisions of any kind. You also understand and agree that this Agreement has been signed at E&A's offices and no "cooling off" period that would apply to door-to-door solicitations applies to this sale. If you are entitled to cancel this agreement, E&A will stop charging your account for your Monthly Dues as of the date yuour Membership is canceled and refund to you any fees paid in advance and not due as of the cancellation date. Except as specified in this paragraph, any cancellation will be effective thirty(30) days after written notice by you or E&A or at any later date specified in any cancellation by E&A. If you have not yet attended an event, you may cancel your membership within 24 hours(one business day) of signing this agreement for a full refund, or within 72 hours of signing it(3 business days), but will be liable for a $400.00 fee to cover the costs of member interviewing, evaluation and processing by E&A." Hope that helps. I've never heard of them. ETA: They're also listed on the Ripoff Report: http://www.ripoffreport.com/RPM/Collection-Agency-s/Recievables-Performance-Manage-E5FAD.htm
