Citizen Drawn Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I am INFJ. Interesting how many INF's on LS, given that they say INFJ's comprise 1% of the population! Isn't that interesting? Hmm a forum, giving relationship advice, sure to attract some INFJ's

Citizen Drawn Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 It says I should go into counseling or psychology. After today... HELL NO. The careers one is always interesting, bear in mind it's only a guide, even psychologists admit the test has a number of weaknesses.
dreamergrl Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 The careers one is always interesting, bear in mind it's only a guide, even psychologists admit the test has a number of weaknesses. It all suggestion management and fashion - I've spent most of my adult life in retail management
Citizen Drawn Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 It all suggestion management and fashion - I've spent most of my adult life in retail management Often people tend to adapt the role to their abilities, for instance in my field (science) I tend to work with a lot of INFP's as they sort out the details and I provide the intuition
Chubbi Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I'm a INTJ here. The description of me is so spot on you wonder whether these people interviewed me personally or not. "Personal relationships, particularly romantic ones, can be the INTJ's Achilles heel. While they are capable of caring deeply for others (usually a select few), and are willing to spend a great deal of time and effort on a relationship, the knowledge and self-confidence that make them so successful in other areas can suddenly abandon or mislead them in interpersonal situations. This happens in part because many INTJs do not readily grasp the social rituals; for instance, they tend to have little patience and less understanding of such things as small talk and flirtation (which most types consider half the fun of a relationship). To complicate matters, INTJs are usually extremely private people, and can often be naturally impassive as well, which makes them easy to misread and misunderstand. Perhaps the most fundamental problem, however, is that INTJs really want people to make sense. :-) This sometimes results in a peculiar naivete', paralleling that of many Fs -- only instead of expecting inexhaustible affection and empathy from a romantic relationship, the INTJ will expect inexhaustible reasonability and directness." Once I got a INTP and that was a really good one too so I think I'm a mix between a INT(J/P) leaning J though. Trial by Fire, I wonder what type you are
Birdy Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Who here knows their Myers-Briggs? I think knowing a person's type would be very beneficial before dating them! I am an INFP. ZOMG YOU TOO?!?! That's what I am. INFP. I would call my BF an ENFJ. Which is a very good match according to the experts.
Trialbyfire Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 pandagirl, you know your classifications can and will change, reliant on what you're using, at the moment. From a career perspective, if you're in a management position, those traits will be dominant, for the moment. If you're in a more technical role, those traits will be more dominant. People need to be aware of this, so they shouldn't consider this a lifetime assessment and consciously or subconsciously lock themselves into a box.
stefspets Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 I've taken it in the past and come up with ISTJ and ISFJ. I think I am pretty strongly IS but the other two may change depending on which test I take or how I feel at the moment.
Author pandagirl Posted August 12, 2009 Author Posted August 12, 2009 I've tested as an INFP since I was I college, ten years ago. I have definitely changed and grown over the years, but my character is who I am and will always be.
Chocolat Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 I'm a INTJ here. Ditto. I took the full (real) M-B several years ago and have since taken some of the abbreviated versions. I sometimes waver into INTP but I am more J than P.
Trialbyfire Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Reliant on what I've been doing my letters have changed. There are eight categories that I score a high percentage with, of which they're apart by only 8 points from highest to lowest, within that bracket. 4 are E's and 4 are I's. Currently, due to what I do, the one with the highest percentage is on the I side. The consistency is that with every I, there's an equal and opposite E, with the same last three characters, if that makes sense.
DWill Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 I've been lurking this forum for years, always wondering what everyone would test as since most of the responses I read are vastly different from mine. Also I would try to use this forum to see how "normal" people react to different situations in their relationships (although it looks like the majority of your reactions are as unique as mine at least in terms of M-B typology) Needless to say I'm an INTP.
JohnnyBlaze Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I've consistently scored as an ISFJ. It says that I'm introverted. No, really. I know, I know - you're all exceptionally shocked at this revelation, but it's true. Believe me, I am just as surprised as you are, but the test doesn't lie. [/sarcasm] After having read up on what an ISFJ is, it is me, almost to a T. I'm also a protector.
Birdy Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 No offense to you, but I've NEVER jibed with S's. They see life in such superficial terms... never stop to dig deeper... I don't have a major problem with them, but they are like a completely different species that I can't even empathize with. I call it "Joe Blow at the bus stop syndrome". Although I'm sure you're a great guy. I'm just making conversation on inter-type relations. Please don't kill me.
JohnnyBlaze Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 None taken, Birdy, and don't worry; I won't kill you. To be honest (and now it's my turn to say 'no offense'), I don't care. Believe me, superficial ain't the word. The trick is that we only open up to a very few people. For every hundred people I know, one knows enough to write my entire life story; the other 99 are lucky if they know anything more than my name. But that one knows he has a Brother for life; something that the 99 will never see. So to you, I look superficial/shallow/smug/cold/whatever-you-want-to-call-it. Eh, I've been called worse.
Citizen Erased Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 INTJ. Seems accurate but a few things not so much. Like pretty much any personality test really.
SoulSearch_CO Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I'm INFP through and through. Everytime I take that test - every single version. I'd say it's a pretty safe assumption that I AM INFP.
Citizen Drawn Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Pretty much everyone who's responded here appears to be an "I" (apart from dreamer who is an honorary I cos she's shpecial ). I guess a lot of E's would see a forum like this as too inward looking

But yeah - hadn't noticed that everyone had scored an "I." Interesting.
johan Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I took that Myers-Briggs test a few years ago. Aced it.
Keoki Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 ESFJ. How fascinating that most of you are I's...
