sally4sara Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Any fool knows that you need mashed potatoes with that gravy, not biscuits. Are you people savages or what?? I think it is due to having a family with a lot of diabetics; gotta minimize the starchy carbs.
quankanne Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 the pintos ought to be a safer gastronomical bet, S4S ... come on over! Me and you and Tink can have a frijole party!
sally4sara Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 the pintos ought to be a safer gastronomical bet, S4S ... come on over! Me and you and Tink can have a frijole party! I'd love to, but I am stuck far away in our nation's capitol. Still south of the Mason-Dixon tho! And I have to admit quietly, shhhh (I don't care for any beans but northern beans and jelly beans )
quankanne Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 honey, once you've tried South Texas pintos ("frijoles") you'll never go back. You can dress 'em up with beer, tomatoes, onions and cilantro ("borracho beans") or keep 'em plain, and they're all good. Especially tucked inside a tortilla or some southern cornbread ...
GorillaTheater Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 You can dress 'em up with beer, tomatoes, onions and cilantro ("borracho beans") Include some bacon in the mix and you've got one of my favorites.
quankanne Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 always! Pork fat rules. Squirrel doesn't. Not even superficial squirrels. :bunny:
WineCountry Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Have any of you been to a game dinner? I went once. Let's see..I tried deer ( of course ) that was good..i dont normally eat deer. Also buffalo ribs ( very good) Frog legs..( they were ok ) Ostrich (cant quite remember what it tasted like) quail ..(kinda gamey). I want to try bear for some reason. Oh..i think I tried 'gator too..but i cant remember. This winter i want to go to another game dinner and try stuff I didnt get to try before.
SoulSearch_CO Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 My mother feeds the squirrels. They come right up to her and take peanuts out of her hand.......... Dude. Tell her to be careful. There was a lady in my area that used to feed the wildlife out back of her house. The cops found her outside on the ground - half-eaten by bears. They don't know if the bears actually killed her, or if she died and THEN they started feasting. But I imagine going to see your parents and finding your mother overrun by squirrels wouldn't be cool.
hoping2heal Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I just laughed out loud reading the title. This is the cutest thread title I've ever seen.
