I've been listening to "We Are Golden" by Mika http://www.imeem.com/popvideos/video/gTzl-WZN/mika-we-are-golden/ even the video makes me happier and takes my mind off of the ex... Nuala83 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Gloria Gaynor - I will survive! First I was afraid I was petrified Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side But I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong I grew strong I learned how to get along and so you're back from outer space I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face I should have changed that stupid lock I should have made you leave your key If I had known for just one second you'd be back to bother me Go on now go walk out the door just turn around now 'cause you're not welcome anymore weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye you think I'd crumble you think I'd lay down and die Oh no, not I I will survive as long as i know how to love I know I will stay alive I've got all my life to live I've got all my love to give and I'll survive I will survive It took all the strength I had not to fall apart kept trying hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart and I spent oh so many nights just feeling sorry for myself I used to cry Now I hold my head up high and you see me somebody new I'm not that chained up little person still in love with you and so you felt like dropping in and just expect me to be free now I'm saving all my loving for someone who's loving me Go on now go walk out the door just turn around now 'cause you're not welcome anymore weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye you think I'd crumble you think I'd lay down and die Oh no, not I I will survive as long as i know how to love I know I will stay alive I've got all my life to live I've got all my love to give and I'll survive I will survive I highly recommend playing this song at FULL volume
Destiny28 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Live This Down--- Papa Roach Had Enough--- Breaking Benjamin Gotta love the angry music sometimes!
openbook08 Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wXLd8-cAjo "When the heartache is over", Tina Turner
onthebrinkofitall Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Not A Pretty Girl by Ani Difranco Rehab by Rihanna Irreplaceable by Beyonce Get the Lilith Fair double CD set. If you can't get over a break up after listening to that, consider seeing a shrink! Also, if you're into poetry "The Hell With Love: Poems To Mend A Broken Heart" It deals with all the different stages and emotions involved in going through a break up and is very theraputic.
aboynamedmike Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Anything by your favorite band usually helps... For me, I listened to a lot of the Avett Brothers music..a lot of their songs are about love and are very well written/played. Also, I love metal. Ill Nino, Slipknot, Metallica, August Burns Red gets my heart pounding and my mind of my ex.
joseffrost Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Paris- Groove Armada... SB, finally listened to it, and you are right! For me, try these little gems: Bob Dylan - Don't Think Twice It's Alright http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtkVGClqrT4 Ryan Adams - Winding Wheel Bright Eyes - It's Cool We Can Still Be Friends and when you feel like dancing... Friendly Fires - Lovesick http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGEYKq2Xr50 Enjoy!
bluewolf17 Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Anything Ryan Adams! Currently, John Meyer (kind of a douche, but I love this one song) Slow dancing in a burning room. It's not a silly little moment, It's not the storm before the calm. This is the deep and dying breath of This love that we've been working on. Can't seem to hold you like I want to So I can feel you in my arms. Nobody's gonna come and save you, We pulled too many false alarms. We're going down, And you can see it too. We're going down, And you know that we're doomed. My dear, We're slow dancing in a burning room. I was the one you always dreamed of, You were the one I tried to draw. How dare you say it's nothing to me? Baby, you're the only light I ever saw. I'll make the most of all the sadness, You'll be a bitch because you can. You try to hit me just to hurt me So you leave me feeling dirty Because you can't understand. We're going down, And you can see it too. We're going down, And you know that we're doomed. My dear, We're slow dancing in a burning room. Just a good song about riding out a doomed relationship until the end.
davidindallas Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 I dont know if yall like rap but jay z's 99 problems. Not the whole song just the first verse makes me feel a lil better. It goes "i got 99 problems but a bit$h aint one" lol.
Meaplus3 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Make it through the rain... by Mariah Carey. Mea:)
kizik Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Any of my songs. Half on the new album are about the breakup.
selena_cat Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Troubles of this World by the Gospel Great Mahalia jackson, cant go wrong with that. Heres a clip of it if anyone wants to see, might as well mourn the relationship as a funeral and be uplifted while youre at it.
moo Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 -Elton John: I'm Still Standing -The theme to Alley McBeal -Cool Jazz radio stations, (on the radio, on the internet, via itunes) because it's easy listening, but not boring and most of the songs don't have words so you don't hear lyrics to love songs.
Author lilymusiq Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 I know its totally weird that I like listening to upbeat music when I cope, my friend likes the sad music too but they just always depress me and who wants that?? Ahhhh so theres some remixes of Mika's "We Are Golden" out now and I think I might love some of them more than the original! Which is weird cuz I normally hate remixes. The Calvin Harris mix is sweet but the Mirwais remix is my faveeeee! I dunno...what do you guys think?
Dlyrica Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Lily Allen has been helping me this time around. Last time Ryan Adams helped alot.
Funky Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 authority zero - madman Specially this part She'll take your lovin' and leave you feeling so confused She'll take your lovin' boy there's nothing more that you can do She'll say that she wants to be with you, she wished you were dead She's ****ed with your mind, now she's got in your head What more now can you say? What she'll say not always what she'll do Watch out for things she's never gonna tell you What she'll say not always what she'll do Watch out for things she's never gonna tell you
