Im going home for the first time in months and I know I should find a new girl. And although I havent had sex for sometime now, I dont want to rush into anything that myself or new girlfriend aren't ready for. Its been so long since Ive had a new girlfriend. Im kinda nervous. I really dont want to give a bad impression.

should i just ask her flat out? is that innapropriate?

Or should I just wait? And if I wait how long do I wait?

IMO, no rule of thumb; it should be a natural progression of physical affection. For some, it happens immediately, for others longer. IMO, you should follow your path (what you usually do when you find a woman attractive) and a compatible woman will respond positively.

Obviously, there is random sex, ONS, and FWB too, so, if you just want sex and don't need a relationship, plenty of that stuff to go around too :)

I would suggest waiting as long as you think you possibly can.

Having sex with someone creates a really strong bond between you really quickly, not instantly and not in every case but usually. It's biology. I think it's really important to know as much as you can about the person and how your relationship is going to go before you take that step. Otherwise, you could very easily end up with a powerful emotional bond to someone who just isn't right for you.

Sex is obviously very very enjoyable and fun, but it makes the breakup after the relationship 10 times more painful and much longer-lasting. Many people require _years_ to fully recover. For myself, after doing it the other way several times in my life I've decided that I want to wait till at least engagement if not marriage, for that reason. Not a message you’ll hear very often especially on this site, but I would give it some thought.
