CarrieT Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 I'm curious why a LOT of guys' profiles include pictures of their "things" like cars, boats, and especially motorcycles. I seem to hear a lot of complaints about women being materialistic, but they don't have pictures of their jewelry or handbags or stuff. Why do the men?
pelleblue Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Well I haven't searched any guys profiles...so I don't know about them... The only thing besides me in my profile is my dog. She gets top billing sometimes, though! Otherwise I think it's silly to include those things. Overconfidence is a poor sales pitch and guys that try too hard come across with a slim to none chance at winning a medal and should expect a minimum of a 75% chance of fleeing females all around him. Seriously, don't trust guys or even give them the benefit of the doubt. Hvis han kan ikke spille leken, skulle han hop i havet istedenfor.
In_Repair Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 I had a profile on a dating site for a little while, and I almost put up a pic of me in front of one of my Jeeps. I was going to do that because A: I'm a "car guy" and I like doing custom automotive work, especially on Jeeps... and B: I only had a few different pics of myself on hand to choose from. The reason I did not use that pic is the same reason you asked this question. I didn't want to come across as bragging about my possessions or anything. I envisioned some woman looking at it and thinking to herself "oh look, this redneck is actually proud of his old POS Jeep" as she clicked to the next profile...

I don't have any of that stuff in my pictures with the exception if a $1500 mt bike, but you would have to not your mt.bikes to tell,..... come to think of it I wounder if the lack of it is responsible for my 1-20 email response rate.....
