Okay I meet this really great guy, everything was going great. We are 3 months into the relationship and he gets hit by a car driving home from my house. Luckily he wasn't killed but he did break his shoulder in 2 places, broke his nose lost his front teeth and fractured his neck.

I have been filled with guilt. I know it was an accident but I just keep feeling that he wouldn't have been there if he hadn't come to see me that night.

Would you feel guilty? How should I handle the recovery period?

Blame yourself for no reason, try to maximize your feelings of guilt, and suffer. Isn't it obvious?

Maybe if he wasn't where he was because of visiting you he would have gotten hit by a bigger car that killed him.

Life happens. There is nothing to blame yourself for.

Blame him for not wearing a full face helmet not yourself...

I ride my motorcycle home from my girlfriend's house a lot.

I also chose to ride it over there. She offers to come pick me up if there is any reason why I shouldn't ride (rain whatever).

Was your boyfriend wearing a helmet? any gear (jacket, gloves, jeans, boots?)

A crash is the result of multiple things coming together. One of those things is his lack of attention.

None of those things has to do with you, unless you broke up with him or something right before he went out riding.

Blame fate, not yourself.

He just as easily could have been hit riding to the store to grab a loaf of bread. It has absolutely nothing to do with you.
