tinklebell Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 How's the dating ratio in your city/town? Is it easy for you to find someone of the opposite sex (no bias here but because there just seems to be too much of an imbalance between the number of men and women in almost everywhere) to date or do you have to fight tooth and nail against a lot of competition to get the one you like? In almost everywhere I know or read, there are more men than women, making it more difficult for women while the men get their pick. How do you cope, if that's the case where you live?
SoulSearch_CO Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 According to city-data for my town: 50.9% males, 49.1% females. No breakdown according to age. 50% of the population over the age of 15 is married.
Citizen Drawn Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 If it really was that dire I would move. Otherwise, it's not really about the town, it's about the situations you put yourself in.
Author tinklebell Posted August 3, 2009 Author Posted August 3, 2009 I moved for work to a city where competition is stiff. I've read somewhere the ratio there is about 57% women, 43% men. I would love to move somewhere else where the ratio isn't that unbalanced but for various reasons, I haven't been able to do that yet.

Err........if there are MORE MEN than women........makes it easier for the women.........
Citizen Drawn Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Wha- I just realised you are a woman, What's the problem?
Author tinklebell Posted August 3, 2009 Author Posted August 3, 2009 Wha- I just realised you are a woman, What's the problem? Yup, I'm a woman. The problem is the unbalanced ratio. And I hate competing for men. I've seen that happen and it's quite unsightly. No judgment of people who compete but it's not a nice look for me. Think women fighting for a pair of pants at a mega sale. The fighting and pulling at hair.

Ok - my brains really gone to mush, I read it that there was a higher percentage of males but it's the other way around. I think I might move to your town. What I would suggest is that you try to seek out situations where men tend to congregate a little bit more than women. There's probably a social activity which is slightly more biased towards the male genetics that you can partake in which you will enjoy (at a least a little). I can't give you a specific suggestion as I've only ever tried figuring out where the women are
Author tinklebell Posted August 3, 2009 Author Posted August 3, 2009 The city doesn't need one more man! Rugby perhaps. But it seems so fake to do things like that. I don't mean not socialize at all but going to a rugby training just for that purpose seems really weird.

SoulSearch_CO Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Time to move to China. Google your city name with "city data" and there's a website called city-data. It has the ratio. On the page, usually next to the map of the city. I did checks on places where there is supposedly a high ratio and I couldn't find any HUGE discrepancies anywhere. NYC was the first that had more women than men, but even there, the diff wasn't all that much.
Author tinklebell Posted August 3, 2009 Author Posted August 3, 2009 Not bad. It's a nice respectable sport.

Sometimes maybe it isn't always a numbers game, huh?

Ok - my brains really gone to mush, Mine too- because she clarifies she's a woman, and then says: The city doesn't need one more man! Rugby perhaps. But it seems so fake to do things like that. I don't mean not socialize at all but going to a rugby training just for that purpose seems really weird. You're not supposed to go play rugby- just go to a pub on a Saturday afternoon when a game is on.... That would work better.

Where you work in China? If you're a white woman working in China it sucks. White men however have it easy getting women. If you've ever worked there you should know why.

Hkizzle Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Beijing. I'm starting to think Asia isn't such a great place to live in for relationships. No it's not for caucasian women. The reason being very few local men attract them, and very local men also feel attracted to caucasian women. For the men however, especially since most expats have more income than the locals, they can pick between caucasian and local women. I know lots of men over here that are losers back home (LBH), come over here and think they're some sex god. It's quite sad.

You've taken the words out of my mouth. A lot of them I know they're losers back home and they still are quite loser-like in Asia but they just get it good because they're different. They start to act high and mighty because of the attention they get.
Author tinklebell Posted August 3, 2009 Author Posted August 3, 2009 Oh D-Lish, my mind's not working. I'm a woman and should be excited that Citizen Drawn wants to move to my city. That's the result of living where the ratio's unbalanced!
