Taucher Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Interested in anyone's opinion. My story: me and my gf went out for 5 years, lived together for 2. She left me nearly three months ago. Anyway, I have moved into a new flat with some old friends. One of my new flatmates is an Italian girl (also my best friend's girlfriend). She has a best friend living around the corner and this girl seems to really like me. We go to the bar where she works and flirt and stuff and I am going to ask her out. I think. She is moving back to Italy in October and also seems really easy going. Everyone raves about her and so it might be fun? However, I do still love my Ex but have pretty much NO hope of getting back together. Also, my ex lives 2 minutes walk away from me, and this Italian girl lives 2 minutes walk the other way. What if my Ex saw us. I have been NCing my Ex and she is getting really angry about it. Any thoughts? T
t0ri Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I say try it out. Don't let the fear of your ex seeing you with or without someone hinder your life. Who cares if she sees you. You moving on with your life, and onto another girl, is what she gets for leaving you. And good job on the NC!

It's always good to keep up your social life after dating. It doesn't mean you have to get involved in anything serious- just have some fun. The situation sounds ideal. Guys and girls hanging out and having fun- no need to slap a label on it. Go for it.

If your ex was the one who broke it off and you still love her why do you except it as a fact that you will never be back with her again... and most importantly if you stopped all contact with your ex and never plan on getting back togather with her then what rational reasons could you have for not dating some one because ur afraid your ex will find out...

It's difficult to know how to ask someone out without slapping a label on it though. I am seeing her again tomorrow night. Before I answer your question I need more info... Why did your ex break it off with you. My ex DID break it off with me. It was the usual "Im not sure I am in love with you" type scenario. I dont believe that we will get back together. It MIGHT happen I suppose, but my ex needs to WANT it to happen. And she has told me that it wont happen, so thats why I think it wont too. She will have to change her mind before we can get back together again. Your second question is a good one. I dont PLAN on getting back together with my Ex and dont think we will ever get back together. But I WANT to. I still love her. So I want to move on without destrying any tiny chances I might get. Doing this will not ruin your 1% chance that your ex will want you back and take you back. If she wants you, she wants you, and going on a few dates with some other chick will not stop her. Who cares, DO IT.
