sara82 Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 I have been doing sooooo well!!!! I had been 4 months no contact, except for 1 message I got from my ex in June (just asking how I was doing). Today was a moment of weakness. I had spent the day really missing him, and after dealing with the thoughts of him all day, and the company of several shots of Jack Daniels....I ended up texting him. Then the ball dropped: First text from him was "who is this"....he obviously erased my number from his phone (I have erased his....but I've memorized him by now). Then once I tell him who I was, he proceeds to tell me that he's now driving to South Carolina with his girlfriend and her son to the beach. This is all coming from a self professed commitment-phobe, who in April told me he wasn't looking for a relationship at the time.... So now he's invovled with with some chick with a kid???? WTF?!?!?!?!?!
Beardy Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 I'm going through something similar with my EX: she broke up with me with the "love you but not in love with you" line and insisted there was not another man involved. Three months down the line, I'm starting to do OK and then I find out she's with someone else and it started before she broke up with me. The guy's a US-based actor, is about 10 years older than her (we're both 27) and she lives in the UK. Very weird, unstable basis for a relationship. The details don't matter, we're both in very similar situations. Knowing that they can move on so easily is painful, but what I keep reminding myself is... this is the final hurdle. It cements what we should have accepted in the first place - there is no going back. They moved on, for better or for worse for themselves. It hurts, but I'm sure the hurt wont be forever. Plus, we might get to have the pleasure of seeing it blow up in their faces!
