Author caramel c Posted August 1, 2009 Author Posted August 1, 2009 Because I'm waiting for Matt Bellamy to discover I'm the perfect person for him? Because I'm a headcase and I'm attracted only to people I can't have because the heartache is far more interesting to me? So I don't go to hell for having sex out of wedlock? Because anyone I date has to like my cat and he's so nasty it's a wonder even I like him...but that ties into the second reason. lol seriously I am going to have to remember these witty replies, thanks
Mariat Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I was told there would be no stupid question, just stupid answers... but that "question" of that guy beats me
Trialbyfire Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 What kind of a question is this? This question is often asked in the very early stages of getting to know somebody, sometimes even during the very first conversation. Perhaps the guys who ask mean it as a compliment, but really I can't help but to take it as a backhanded one. What kind of an answer do they expect? Would they like a full report of my dating history? Would they like a list of my mental illnesses? Or are they really so amazed that somebody soooo special like me (who they don't know yet) is really single? Your thoughts, please. You don't need to verbally respond. Just twitch in an uncontrollable manner.
Touche Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I think this is a sign of a serious problem in your relationship... You think wanting a boyfriend when you're married indicates a serious problem in my marriage? Wow, you people are SOOOO judgemental.
Citizen Drawn Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 All apologies. I think I misunderstood what you said to mean that my original question in this thread was the stupid one. No it wasn't This is a possibility. I will take this into consideration, thank you. Yeah erm, sorry about that I feel like a pratt now, that was WAY too harsh and I wish I'd never had written it - please accept my apology and just ignore it! I've been quarantined with possible swine chit for the last week and I'm going a bit insane.

Lauriebell82 Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Well I'm engaged now, but when I was dating I got asked variations of that question. Sometimes it was like a pick up line like, "wow you are so great, why don't you have a boyfriend right now?" or something equally cheesy like that. I think it's just a tactic that guys use to make you feel special.
