Gunny376 Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 NO. She is out of state. It is an older couple, late 40's. So no military people around. She said that she wanted to be able to think without all the drama that comes from being near a base... Cheating? No i doubt it, not saying its not a possibility, just that i doubt it. When I said that it'd be hard to hide from the kids... My youngest is a severe momma's boy, he never, NEVER leaves her side... lol. Process of elimination? She's not near a base, she's stable with a 'HOME BASE", not worried with "NEEDS" You don't believe its WAW syndrome? Not MIL crisis? Comes down to one thing! Depression! Depression over missing you! The only way she can dump the depression is to dump you! (Nothing personal) Generally when women are unhappy about one thing in their life? Their unhappy with any and everything in their life! Including YOU! Which is why you end up re-arranging the living room five times a year!
Author Concerned_SSG Posted August 1, 2009 Author Posted August 1, 2009 Wow Gunny. Never thought of it like that. Believe it or not, I appreciate the "tough love" approach. Sets the tone of reality, regardless. And you are correct, i shouldn't be worrying about things back home while i'm here, and i'm kind of pissed off at myself that i was letting it get to me like that when i have soldiers/airmen/marines (we are a joint unit) here that depend on me. Yes kinda figured you were retired USMC. And believe me, I understand where you're coming from. I'm a SSG (P), and we in the Army do the same things... And you hit the nail on the head about something, i know that she is depressed. she's manic depressive / bipolar. not a good combination if you ask me.
Gunny376 Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Awwwwww Hell! You've got me really riled now! Your first mission in life is to take care of your men Staff Sergaet! Be they Army, Navy, Air Forcem or Marines! They're dirty?
Author Concerned_SSG Posted August 1, 2009 Author Posted August 1, 2009 Wasn't trying to get your riled. Even with this going on, I still always put my Soldiers first! That is never a question. Not sure i get what u mean by asking if they're dirty....
Gunny376 Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 You're twice as dirty! They're hungry? You're twice as hungry! Ditto with those daughters of yours! Your objectinve is to get out of Iraq in one piece and be there for them!
Gunny376 Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Wasn't trying to get your riled. Even with this going on, I still always put my Soldiers first! That is never a question. Not sure i get what u mean by asking if they're dirty.... The LS thing! It works werid sometimes! Bascically putting your troops welfare before yourself and own well being and comfort! They have the best! You suffer the worse!
Author Concerned_SSG Posted August 1, 2009 Author Posted August 1, 2009 Roger, Got it. Worry about whats going on here and now and when i get home, then worry about whats going on there.
Gunny376 Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Wasn't trying to get your riled. Even with this going on, I still always put my Soldiers first! That is never a question. Not sure i get what u mean by asking if they're dirty.... Chill! You've answered the questioned! You would die for them!
Gunny376 Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Just re-read your thread ~ and the manic/depressive thing hit me. Bro, there's not a damn thing you can do about that! Either she's on the meds or she's off them! She may tell you she's on them, and not be! Or vice versa! What your Happy @zz has got to concentrate on is staying alive and getting back to the 'real world' of the USA! Being there and staying there for the DD's! Saw a report on CBS, where a solider was never blown up directly, never shot, but having suffered multiple concussions from multiple explosions suffered brain damage that lead to early Alzheimer's in his thirties or forties! I lost my hearing from my left ear due to a concussion from a grenade. Walked around for two weeks and all I could hear was "rinnnnnnnnnggggggg" in my ears! If your suicidal? Depressed! Seek professional help! Don't be afraid to do so! Its not like when Lakeside and I were in and seen as a weakness! A mental defect! When I was going through it? I was aloud eight visits to to the counselor on base! After that? I was suppose to be over it! Twelve years of my life compressed into eight weeks! Iraq, Kuwait, Uganda, Nicaragua, Cuba, Bangladesh, India, Saudi Arabia,..................just to mention a few! (And there were many more) Then theres the "Oath" That you won't speak of, nor swear to, give any testimony to of anything you've seen, witnessed, nor did until your "twenty years" past dead or your 99th birthday!
Ariadne Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 So the first thing you've got to do is to get your head into the game that your in, and worry about the playoffs next week! And that's just the way it is! The name of 'today's game' is staying alive, making it out of Iraq with all your limbs, your fingers & toes and what you went into the game with. ...... (*Stands and applauds*) Bravo!!! Bravo Gunny again!!!
Author Concerned_SSG Posted August 2, 2009 Author Posted August 2, 2009 If your suicidal? Depressed! Seek professional help! Don't be afraid to do so! Its not like when Lakeside and I were in and seen as a weakness! WHOAH! Not me buddy. No way in hell. Having emotional problems right now, yes. Mental problems, no. It should have hit me sooner, but I'm sure i know what the underlying issue is. And no its not a OM. She feels like we've grown apart and that its easier to walk away , then to take the time to "re-grow" and rebuild. Any suggestions or advice on that? I sent her an email (she doesn't want NC, usually she's the first to get a hold of me everyday) the other day pretty much saying that as long as we still love eachother (we do - on both sides) and that as long as we are still in love with eachother (again, we are - both sides) that our marriage is valuable and worth saving instead of throwing it away. I know my marriage issues aren't as bad as some of the ones that i've read here, but i do appreciate the advice and suggestions that have been given.
