brock9911 Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 my last posts heading was all f*cked up! well the break up was rough. and the feelings were like a roller coaster. but one thing i can thank to my naggin, conniving, lying, bitch of an ex is that i was finally able to think up some art work. iv wanted to get a new tattoo for a long time. once i noticed my sudden swing of attitudes, extremely angry, bitter cold, extremely unhappy, very depressed. i thought y the f*ck not think of a tattoo that could express some of my feelings. so i went with a fire and ice theme and went from there. i personally love the tattoo, and i know a lot of people out there frown upon tattoo's and piercings. but this was something i know and something i can relate to. what has been good out comes for your break ups. weather its taking on a hobby or activity, or self mutilation like me haha. basically, i need and am intrigued by peoples ideas and philosophies. i mean come on, theres only so much money and tattoos i can get.
joseffrost Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Well, I didn't indulge in any body art... But, I did start writing a lot of (admittedly, very bad) poetry which I considered sending my ex. Once I got over this (by reading Philip Larkin and EE Cummings and realising that my writing was pure sh*te in comparison) I started playing my guitar for the first time in a couple of years, and I've been able to finally start combining my own music and lyrics, and I'm considering going to a few open mic nights in the area. I've also been reading a lot more, and I'm starting to re-learn French. So all in all, it hasn't been too bad!
fabulous_chk Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 I'm thinking of becoming a henna tattoo artist...been thinking about it obsessively.
dianna Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 i'm a artist..and i started to paint again and read books..it does feel ok..for a while i want a tattoo too ..im really thinking of getting one..but when i'll be ok.
Taucher Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Good question... ...I have been learning the guitar (bit cliche I know), bought myself a new posh mountain bike and been riding it across London and remote parts of the countryside too, I have enrolled on a French language course due to start in September, I have been drawing a lot (this is quite funny as I really CANNOT draw at all) and I have been creating music on my Korg w/ garage band on my flatmate's Mac. I have also been swimming alot and exploring parts of London that I have never been to (and which also dont remind me of my ex). T

T Maybe we should start a French-language synth/acoustic crossover band?
Taucher Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Maybe we should start a French-language synth/acoustic crossover band? Great idea! As long as the lyrics do not go into any more depth than "My name is..., I live in..., I like playing tennis" as my French is minimal!
joseffrost Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Great idea! As long as the lyrics do not go into any more depth than "My name is..., I live in..., I like playing tennis" as my French is minimal! I could maybe stretch as far as "I fell over, now I have a headache" or "I like cheese". We'll consider it a concept album.
Taucher Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I written a song for it already. It's called 'I like fish'. It's just "I like fish" repeated quite a lot (IN FRENCH!) with swirly synths in the backgroud, with an accoustic guitar. It really gives a sense of what it is like to like fish. Also, I think I might get a tattoo like brock9911. Hmmm.
Author brock9911 Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 haha, well a tattoo is a great way to express urself, just make sure its what u want. iv been traveling alot. im not sure if you guys are familiar with the us at all, but iv been to pennsylvanai, boston, chicago, and new york city so far. i was supposed to go to ireland, but those plans fell through. iv also been playing lots of sports, handball, hockey, baseball. anything that keeps my mind moving ya know. i used to be very artistic. always drawing and sketching, but i havent done that in a loooooong while. maybe i'll touch a pencil to a pad sometime and see what comes out.
joseffrost Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 We could be the new Air! the first album tracklisting: 1. I like fish 2. I play tennis 3. My name is... 4. I live in... 5. Where is the swimming pool? 6. I like cheese 7. Turn Left 8. Turn Right 9. I play football on holiday 10. I like fish (Tricolor remix)

Where is the swimming pool? 6. I like cheese 7. Turn Left 8. Turn Right 9. I play football on holiday 10. I like fish (Tricolor remix) Haha This has got smash hit written all over it! How could a Victorian Gentleman in a top hat and BOB DYLAN not work?! Can we call ourselves 'Bibliotech'? And we can market our album by going on a series of French exchanges with surly, constantly smoking French teenagers and giving them the CD as a gift. Viral marketing at its best. NB. I would prefer it if Air were the old us, instead of the other way around. brock9911 yes I would need to be sure I guess. They cant really come off can they? And apparantly, they hurt. I did go to have one done when I was younger but they wouldnt let me BECAUSE I WAS DRUNK. I explained that I was drunk so it might not hurt so much but they had none of it. Yes I have been to US I went to New York, Philidelphia and ,er, Buffalo. And I went to Toronto but that is technically in Canada isnt it? I would love to travel but, to be honest, got no-one to travel with. Used to go everywhere with my ex. ALSO, I am the opposite of you, brock9911 in that I used to be a sporty type but have since gone all arty. Strange what heartbreak does to you.
Soul Bear Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Nice ink bro! Im gonna get one more tattoo tooo Creative things- I have written loads of new songs, explored open G# tuining on my acoustic and now wont play in anything else, hitting the gym 5 days a week, put on weight...oh yeah and the best part is, since i went NC, i can feel the tables slowly turning and now I got at least 50% of my power back! Slowly becoming the old me but better and wiser Heartbreak is INSPIRING!!
jlr Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 i did get more creative. i just finished what i consider to be my best cd. it's all very sad stuff, but good. i think it's a catch 22. you're either happy and make crap art, or you're sad and tortured and make brilliant stuff. i sometimes wonder what i'd prefer.
Author brock9911 Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 Well the tattoos hurt to a degree. depends on where and how long your skin is taking the abuse. they can come off but its a laser surgery and apparently it hurts worse than the tattoo. so ill live with my decision haha. and the reason they dont like to tattoo people who are drunk.. 1) they can be rude and obnoxious, 2) they can be indecisive and not like whats being done 3) and most importantly, alcohol thins the blood and makes the tattoo bleed ALOT. well it seems most people are more into writing and music. i used to be a writer. short storied, poems, and a few songs. but nothing crazy. now it seems so hard to even find time its the heart break that makes the good music/art ect. how often is a good song written about happy times. heart break opens our minds to try to find ourselves once again
Road To Joy Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Holy sh*t, your tattoo is so cool. I want one I've always wanted one, but since I'm not sure of what to get I don't just want to get anything. I've been learning Latin... and I've been getting into debate, kind of. It's cool, getting your mind off things for a while and just focusing on an argument. Looking out for factual points, and stuff. I over-prepare before doing ANYTHING so I haven't argued with anyone, YET. Anyways, how much did your tattoo cost?
Author brock9911 Posted July 31, 2009 Author Posted July 31, 2009 believe me i love to argue haha. iv been told plenty of times i should have been a lawyer. yeah the tattoo was a long process. i didnt know what i wanted and i wasnt about to jump into a bad decision. after me and my ex broke up, i noticed my constant attitude and mood swings. so thats where i came up with a fire and ice theme. to represent how different my personalaties had become. i wanted the demon/devil to be the symbolism of anger and fury and the ice/skull was more of a bitter and cold feeling and i wanted a more sadistic feel to it. i didnt really get the sadistic to come out properly, but i still like it none the less. the grand total was about $1050 with tip
