consume Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 So I met this girl on a dating site about a week ago. We've only talked a few times over IM (long chats) and finally decided to call each other sometime this week. She's a few years younger then myself but I'm cool with that. I've been out of the dating scene for quite some time, being more then 4+ years but I do remember my past experiences, and I'm already wondering if I see a red flag or not. So this girl has posted on her Social sites that shes dying to see some event, and seeing that as a window to meet up, I asked her if she wanted to go. She's good with going, said we could talk this wk on the phone and make plans for the weekend. So, were talking on IM 2 nights ago, and she asked me if I had any big plans for this weekend... little odd but ok. Said I was busy one day, and then she goes on to say she's out with friends Friday/Sat, busy Sun, but maybe sunday night we could hit the event. I've been out of the dating scene for quite some time, but I do remember being some girls time filler for a sunday night out... I didn't think about it much until today, and then it hit me. Is this a red flag? Am I just a time filler for a sunday night again... or would you guess she's it's legit? I'm not out to be someones push over and be available just when they are, I've been there before and I don't want to return.
Thaddeus Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I wouldn't read anything into it. For the time being, I'd be apt to take her at her word until her actions begin to show otherwise.
New Again Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I don't think you can fault her for having a healthy social life outside of a relationship. I've never heard of the Sunday night filler - it sounds like she has plenty of going on without needing YOU to fill in lonely/empty time. Just go and have fun!
monkey00 Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 While some girls do go on dates/meets with guys they aren't interested in to fill their time or if they're bored, you should give it a shot. Being 4 years out of the game, you could use some oil to take the squeak out from your gears. That is it's a worthwhile experience whether it leads anywhere or not. Go out and have fun!
