stampdaddy Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 “Our Oak Tree” As I look out the window of my heart, I see a majestic Oak Tree I wonder, “how did it get there, It wasn’t there before?” It began years ago, with a precious little acorn. A friendship had begun, which slowly turned to love. Neither of us knew, as that love grew and grew. All while beneath, whispy grasses went wild, Dancing and playing like a happy little child A moment, a beautiful time of my life Where at this moment, I was loved and I loved Seasons of love, a lifetime of love Fall is around the corner, and slowly, one by one The leaves of this lovely tree will start to fall, Like the tears from my eyes. Tired and defeated, until the last leaf hangs from the drowsy tree The last tear to fall. [ But one day, if I should open my hearts window again And take a look outside I will see Our Oak Tree And yes, I will see as many dried up little leaves As I do dried up little leaves. But rising above all of this: Our Tree Which still lives And will live forever And forever etched into that tree is that a Sweet man loved a sweet woman….. Maybe somehow, someway, others that pass by this Oak Tree of ours, Will feel a warmth like no other – Our Love
