mortensorchid Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Is there a certain age you have to be to be considered a cougar? I was having a chat with someone the other day about this. Is there an official age or does it have to do with the age difference that may be between the couple in question?
Lizzie60 Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Is there a certain age you have to be to be considered a cougar? I was having a chat with someone the other day about this. Is there an official age or does it have to do with the age difference that may be between the couple in question? It has to do with the age gap + the age of the woman... If a 28 yr old female date a young 19 .. she's not a cougar.. The term cougar is associated with a mature woman, well established.. who enjoy younger men.. I personally don't like the term.. as it portrays an older woman who prey on younger men.. Well.. as far as I'm concerned.. younger men hit on me.. rarely the other way around.
monkey00 Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 According to the urban dictionary... An attractive woman in her 30's or 40's who is on the hunt once again. She may be found in the usual hunting grounds: nightclubs, bars, beaches, etc. She will not play the usual B.S. games that women in their early twenties participate in. End state, she will be going for the kill, just like you. Associated with milfs
Samari Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Any woman beyond the age of 35 in my opinion counts.
Sam Spade Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Cougar has a slightly pejorative meaning, implying that the woman is doing something that she "shouldn't" be doing --> I have mixed feelings about this, but I think that for the most part I agree. For both men and women, after a certain age (e.g., say mid to late 30s), the stakes in dating change dramatically (i.e. the likelihood of conventional marriage and kids - white picket fence style - begins to dminish, so the focus shifts to adult companionship as a sole goal). So, seeing anybody, mane or a woman, fight the social and bioloigical aging processes and pretending that they are still in their 20s by chasing younger men/women looks mostly kind of sad.
