C isn't average - C's personality, wittiness, clever responses and street smarts makes C someone who charges your personality everytime you are with them. I think timing is key to this answer. I know that I would probably chose B if I was just fresh from a relationship - maybe others would too? or if they were just looking for a ONS/FWB set up. A or C - tough choice! Let me think about it tonight and I'll answer at a later time...

In my experience, Americans use the word "clever" as in 'don't get clever with me' - i.e. smart-a$$, NOT as in being intelligent. English speakers IME don't use the word 'smart' as in intelligent at all -- only to mean a person dresses 'smartly' as in neat and professional dress. I don't think OP meant a tier like the way you see it... I think OP simply used a different word for Intelligent, that's all... what say you, Your'easian? Yeah English speakers don't. In fact along with looking smart, in terms of a description of personality it's more often used as a negative: 'smarty-pants' or 'don't get smart with me' and then there's having 'street smart', as in you're not that clever, or educated, but you've enough brains to get by despite any disadvantages.

C and I wouldn't fit well, sounds like they need someone nicer than me. I'm going to have to go with either none or a little bit of A and C.
Thornton Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I wouldn't touch B with a ten foot pole - he sounds like a player with little intelligence, as it wasn't mentioned as a positive attribute. A and C both sound good, but it's difficult to choose between them because I'm not sure who has the best attributes... for example A is good looking and B is decent looking, so who is better looking? A is intelligent and C is smart... so which one is better educated, more cultured, more able to have an intelligent discussion, and in the more professional job? It would have been easier if you had described the people in a more easily comparable way Out of A and C, I would tend to go for the guy who was more cultured/intelligent/better educated, even if he wasn't as good looking as the other guy, as long as he wasn't ugly and had decent morals i.e. wasn't a cheater or abusive etc. I place less value on emotional intelligence than on academic intelligence; as long as the guy wasn't totally emotionally barren I'd be happy to trade emotional intelligence for a lively discussion and a good education.
