Just a curious question.

At what age did you get married (for those who are married or have been married)

And how long did you date before the wedding?

I'm gonna be 25 next month and my mom was married to my dad when she was 22 and had me when she was 23. She keeps asking why I can't find anyone and that I should be having kids soon...and blah blah blah.

My dad jokingly gives me a hard time about the same thing. He goes "I was married to your mom at your age." I'm 23, and I think he married my mom when he was 22, and mom was 21.

I think times have changed though, people are getting married a lot older than they were 30 years ago.

Oh times have definately changed.

Aside from not settling down to young...

Its expensive!!! haha. Even to move out and get your own place, for a one bed is like $1,000. My mom tells me that too. "I was outta the house when I was 18..."

I married @ 22 and we dated 2 years prior to that. Then we divorced a few years later lol but I don't have any regrets and age wasn't the issue.

I'm 26 now and been dating my most perfect match for nearly 6 months now. Marriage is pretty much the unspoken goal and I would imagine it could be brought up within a year or two from now.

Exactly. My alma mater announced a tuition increase of $500 per semester, and my mom goes "that increase is more than we ever had to pay PER YEAR." Yeah, $4,000 per semester is pretty freaking outrageous...out of state is like $10,000 per semester. No wonder people take longer to get on their feet...

Seriously IceMan. Its crazy.

Honestly, I never graduated college. Too damn expensive. It was almost $35,000 a year. Couldn't afford it.

I am 20 and i would never get married before the age of 24-25. I am in the process of getting my masters degree and i cant imagine having a fulltime GF or even paying for marrage and everything. I have so much student loans...if i had a GF she wouldnt get anything

My Grandmother always tells me to get married and have kids before she dies LOL. She to gave me the speech of her getting married at 19 and said why cant i. I told her because i have an education to get. She never went to college (most people that old never went unless you were very rich. so she doesnt understand to be as busy as i am.

I was 21, dated for not quite a year and a half before that but had known each other for over three years.

Of course, that was over 25 years ago, and personally I wouldn't recommend marrying that young.

Gorilla,

Did the marriage last?

It is individual what age is best for you.

In general the younger you get the job done, the more probable that you ever get it done. I mean ability to have kids mostly.

Nobody knows their future. If could happen later in life that a female can get STDs or ectopic pregnancy or many other situations which can prevent her from having kids at all. But it is not necessary happen to everyone.

Yeah, we're still married, but it was kind of rough at first. Both of us were probably too immature and inexperienced early on, but we made our way through and our marriage has been great for some time.

I'd just never advise people to inflict unnecessary injuries on themselves; waiting a bit for something as fundamentally life-altering as marriage is generally a good idea.
