I have been with my partner for two years, living together for one, and we're extremely happy together. We've both had a really bad year, I lost my father, she's gone through treatment for cervical cancer and got the all clear. Things are looking up a bit now though, luckily had health insurance and due to the form of cancer my partner had, they have paid our mortgage off. I know money isn't everything but after the year we have had it was a nice surprise. Now...we have booked a holiday to New Zealand for February of next year to see some friends who are travelling around the world, we are going to be travelling the length of the country with our friends before flying home and I'm intending to ask her to marry me whilst we are there. We don't have an itinerary or anything booked yet, so my question is, if anyone knows NZ, can anyone suggest the ideal place for such an important question?! I would happily ask her in a pizza shop and it would be just as memorable for me, but I thought as we're there anyway and it's such a beatiful country, there has to be somewhere that would make it even more memorable? Ideas on a postcard please!

Thaddeus Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I've got the perfect spot. Really. Actually, two of them. Paihia, in the Bay of Islands. Take a sailing cruise and propose to her on the ship. See Carino Sailing & Dolphin Cruises. The lighthouse at Cape Reinga. Can't go wrong with either of those.
