Thaddeus Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 You had the proper love bug feelings - u know the butterflies in the stomach, excited and energetic, world is wonderful feeling over someone? A few years ago. I relied on my feelings and my intuition and my gut instinct and went ahead and made a move, sure in my heart of hearts that she felt the same way. She didn't.
New Again Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 I've ever only felt that way once - maybe about 6 or 7 years ago now? It did not end well, and I was a complete wreck after we broke up. Never felt that way before him, haven't felt that way since, although obviously I have dated other people, had a few relationships, and the guy I'm currently dating is pretty fantastic. No butterflies though!
lora22 Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 With my last bf - we dated for a year; broke up about 2 months ago.
IcemanJB Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 About a year ago. I thought, at the time, that it was going to be the same as the girl before her (the butterflies, etc.). NO WAY. It was 10x more intense. It was mutual too, which was not the case with the girl before her. The best day of my life was when I kissed her for the first time - the intensity was beyond words. I remember every intricate detail of that night, and will probably never forget it. Haha, I've actually never told anyone this before. Of course, we went way too fast, realized we aren't right for each other at this point, and that made the breakup pretty much the crappiest thing I've ever gone through. She admitted the same - I've never seen a girl (much less any person) cry so much before. But you know what? I don't regret dating her AT ALL. I came out of that whole things stronger, smarter, and a mutual respect/understanding with her that I've never had with a girl before. Now it's time to find one that is actually right for me, not just someone I have ridiculous chemistry with.
Citizen Erased Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 The last time was when I was 17. I doubt I am capable of tingly feelings anymore over someone.
Bayern Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 The last time was when I was 17. I doubt I am capable of tingly feelings anymore over someone. That's no good at your age. There's some Aussie out there for ya'
Citizen Erased Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 That's no good at your age. There's some Aussie out there for ya' I guess I meant what it was like when I was 17 and all girly and romantic and got silly over boys. I just can't see myself like that again, I need it to be more I suppose. One person can't make the world feel wonderful.
CarrieT Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 A few years ago. I relied on my feelings and my intuition and my gut instinct and went ahead and made a move, sure in my heart of hearts that she felt the same way. She didn't. Mine was exactly the same, 10 months ago. All the signs were that he felt the same, until he decamped for Morocco and Italy. I saw him four months later by chance, in a Washington D.C. restaurant (we are both from San Francisco) as he was on his way to India for four months. I was sure I would hear from him upon his return. I didn't.
pandagirl Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Two and a half years ago I met someone and I felt instantly "in love." I went home and actually wrote in my journal that I had met the man I thought I was going to marry. Of course, nothing came of anything. It was a crazy, all-consuming few months, but it was worth it. It also taught me not to put so much emphasis on infatuation.
iwanttolive Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Having been through tons of disappointments, I'm not capable of having that sensation anymore. I found myself turning into an ice queen, my emotions and expressions frozen...

MSUE Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 I've been with my current bfriend for 2 years now and I get the butterflies all the time still...I was married for 8 years to my ex and I don't recall any butterflies there...
Bayern Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 One person can't make the world feel wonderful. I'd disagree completely. Simply because of some of the horror stories I've heard involving couples and wars etc... Then again, I am 18 so maybe I still have those "girly and romantic and got silly over [girls]" feelings
D-Lish Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Last time I felt like that was last October. We dated briefly and then he turned out to be a major commitment-phobe. I haven't even dated since him and I broke up last x-mas. He still drives me crazy contacting me every 2 months or so trying to start things up again. Before that it had been a couple years. I feel like it won't ever happen again:o
redhighheels Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 I got the first butterflies when I was 16. After he broke up with me, I was a mess for years. I almost experienced it again with the last guy I dated, which was about 10 months ago, but it wasn't that intense. Still, I was quite infatuated with him.
SoulSearch_CO Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 With my XH. Divorced a year ago. It's sad to read people saying they never felt that again after the first time. I was hoping that wasn't the last and only time.
JUSTdaNCE Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 I get butterflies in my stomach almost every time I hang out with my ex...(who kinda isn't my ex anymore... read one of my previous posts to get back story) There is always one or two kisses that gives me butterflies...the way he looks at me sometimes too. We dated for about 3 years but have known each other for about 5...Its a long time to still be getting butterflies...
Teslacoil Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Probably this morning when I was kissing my gf goodbye and left for work. We've been together 2 years, and it's the first relationship for both of us after both of our first marriages ended. Things are going swimmingly for us. Just for the nay-sayers, it can and does bite twice.
New Again Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Just for the nay-sayers, it can and does bite twice. I hope it was a one time thing for me!
GiveAndTake Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Right now! This is the only time I've ever felt butterflies with someone. I'm kinda sick to my stomach all of the time. I don't think I like it. We've been dating about 2 1/2 months.
Cora Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Well, I get butterflies a lot just because I tend to be a very nervous and shy person in general. So I'm not sure if I've ever really had butterflies because I actually really really liked a person. I'm sure I probably have at least once...possibly. Just not sure how to tell the difference?
Charles1978 Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Yeah me too... I'm in a relationship now that I have these feelings all the time. And it is absolutely mutual too. Part of me wonders if we are getting a bit carried away with it all, but I can't say that I care if we are or not. I've felt this way once before with a girl I dated for 4 1/2 yrs, so I know it can sometimes fade. But this one probably tops that one. It is a good feeling for sure, especially when it is reciprocated.
Lauriebell82 Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Last time? When my fiance called me on my lunch hour. Yeah it's odd that seeing his name on my cell phone excites me. My fiance by far has given me the most butterflies. I think the only other person to ever give me butterflies was my first love who I lost my virginity to when I was 16. Of course after about 6 months later the butterflies turned into killer bees when we broke up. My fiance will be the last though, I wouldn't have it any other way.
