gopher Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 A friend met his wife on Eharmony, so he encouraged me to try it....I've had decent luck in the past and met some nice women there. So I signed up for it. I don't seem to be meeting any women the "normal" way. Anyone have any thoughts?
D-Lish Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Online dating is pretty much considered a "normal way" these days. I confess that I haven't had much sucess from OD of late.
claire0917 Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Online dating is becoming more and more common, but I still prefer the "normal" way.. I can't really trust people online.
redant Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 its just another way to meet people. I mean some say it's crazy some say it's fine. People get married and have relationships that met online. So If you click you click. I don't have alot of time to be out and about all the time so I lke online dating.
BenThereDunThat Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Really, what is considred "normal" these days? The only reason I haven't tried online (and if I do, eharmony would probably be the only way I'd go), is because I'm just not ready to give up meeting people in person. Big reason for that, for me, is I take a HORRIBLE picture. I would hate for anyone to judge me on that. I still feel like I will meet someone face-to-face (yes, even at 40). Also, a couple of women I know who do online dating? I've sometimes thought that they're addicted to putting their picture out there, getting all these 'hits' and 'winks' or whatever based on that, that they're kind of addicted to it. If that makes sense. Eharmony, at least, I feel like people are seriously looking to make substantial connections. Like, that's where you go when you're serious about actually meeting someone in the online arena. Know what I mean?

Totally agree Sis, I've seen that happen before, the grass is always greener approach. But, you're right, Eharmony is a bit different...
redant Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 online dating doesn't necessarily mean you date "online". I meet anyone I'm interested in face to face for a coffee or lunch to see if there is a connection. People on match I believe are serious. You do have to pay, so they are looking, I think seriously to meet a match.
