ruthe1 Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I hope no one jumps on me more my assumption....but here it goes. I am a single mom who has a 2 year old child. I've been on a few dating sites for the last two year. Not really desperate, but just going with the flow. Going with the flow has put me on a lot of "one and done dates. It seems that white men seem to care more about me having a kid than black men do. I've when on dates with 10 white guys and about 10 black guys. The black guys seemed less startled and SEEM to be more comfortable with the idea of me having a child. So the question is.....are black men more open to getting into a relationship with a women who has kids?

NotNow Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 On average, how old are the guys your trying to date? This was my first thought too - it seems to me that age/maturity would be more of the issue in a situation like that than race.
Author ruthe1 Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 I'm 29 and usually date guys around 30.
alphamale Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 So the question is.....are black men more open to getting into a relationship with a women who has kids? assuming you are white and the black men want to date interracially then they will be willing to let more things slide...
boldjack Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Ruthie, unfortunately there are many more single mother families in the black community than there are in the White, Hispanic or Asian communities. The black men you date probably have been with single mothers before,so it isn't as unusual.
boldjack Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 BTW this does not mean that black men are more or less willing to enter into a stable relationship. This depends on the individual, regardless of race.

Untouchable_Fire Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I'm 29 and usually date guys around 30. That's my age. I'm white and dating a black woman with a child. I've dated single mothers before. Is your child mixed race? Sometimes that can be a factor. Bottom line is that were I live most guys are willing to date single moms. Race doesn't really factor into it. Maybe that is different where you live. My suggestion... just keep dating until you find a guy that works for you... in the end it wont matter what color he is.
