Why do guys go for friends of their friends (girls) and try to date when they are not allowed to? Esp if that guy and the friend used to have a "thing" ?

when they are not allowed to?

You answered your own question. Man, woman, bisexual, it doesn't matter: grass is always greener on the other side, and we always want what we can't have (hell why do you think these sayings even exist? i.e. "Want what you have" must've been coined for some reason, right? Because people always chase after things they don't have)

PS: This is also why some aspects of the PUA game occasionally works. By making oneself seem unattainable by various means, women try to convince one otherwise (genders vice versa).

true, but what about the friends code? Guys or girls of friends that have history with eachother are usually off limits, so why even go there and have drama?
