I've heard it takes half of the length of your relationship to get over someone. I don't want to replace old feelings with new ones by dating another guy when I'm not over the sadness, so I'm just waiting to get over my 15 mo relationship. Just wondering if that average was true.... It's 3 mo's and 4 more to go.

Aahhh.. come on.. do you honestly believe this crap..

It takes half the time.. according to who?...

It takes the time it takes.. I don't believe in that.. imagine if someone spend 20 years with someone.. it would take 10 years to get over him/her.. :o nope.. I don't believe this crap..

You never really know...it may change from person to person, as well as depend upon the closeness of the relationship, the events that happened, and a multitude of other variables. In my personal experience I have healed after the same length of the relationship, and in another case simply a few weeks.

The one thing you can know for sure is that one day you will wake up, and you will go the whole day without having more than a fleeting thought of them. Till then!

Been 8 months since my ex and me broke up. Still eats me alive every day.

It also depends on your approach. if you are still in contact with your ex it will take longer. if you see your ex out and about occassionally then it could take longer. if your ex has a new partner then that can help you move on. Maybe i wont be fully over my ex until some other girl steps into mylife although i am not ready yet.

To get over someone quicker you need to remove all images and signs of them in your life so they start to become a distant memory and that 3 year relationship you had feels like a 1 year relationship as things fade.
