I lost my husband a few months ago to cancer. I am 37 years old and we were married for 18 years. I feel so alone now. We have 2 teenage children, but they have their lives. I have never been with another man and now I feel like I may never be loved by a man again. I am so afraid of being alone for the rest of my life. If anyone out there has been thru anything like this , I would like to hear from them.

I'm so sorry. I don't have experience of this, but I bought a book today which may help;

It's called Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus - Starting Over, by John Gray. It's about coping with loss of love in any circumstance. How to heal basically. Yes I know it sounds easy from a book , but everything helps.

I don't want to sound presumptious, but people who are suffering painful break ups seek professional help, and I would not feel frightened of doing that.

You are going through a very very difficult period of your life and to seek and accept help can only be positive.

Take care.

You are still very much in a period of grief and hopefully you will cease for a time giving consideration to your romantic future. In time, and it's very difficult to know just how long that will be, you will heal from your horrendous and untimely loss. When that happens, it's highly likely that you will be open to meeting nice men who will offer you excellent companionship. Right now, that's not really something you are prepared to contemplate. Just don't worry about it. You will not be alone...but take this time for your grieving and not thinking about future relationships.

How terribly sad and I'm truely sorry for your loss. I lost my grandmother last year to cancer and I try to remember that she isn't suffering anymore and that she is in a better place.
