I have been in such a deep level of depression, that I don't feel emotion. I haven't really cried since I lost my ex, and it has eaten me alive. I'm intelligent enough to know the DAMAGE that shutting off your emotions and suffering through a depression that deep, causes. So I did my best to try to cry...

I recommend everyone going through the same pain as me, to try this...

Go to youtube, search for the video "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley. He has passed on since making it, which makes it all the sadder. Listen to it, and block out everything else. Turn it up, and think about how much you loved the person you lost. Let it bring you to tears, and force you to cry. Don't let your mind jump to another subject to avoid the pain... focus, n cry all you can... its a blessing..

I agree. Letting it all out makes it easier. Carrying such strong emotions with you for too long is never a good idea.

Thanks for that! I love that song, it is probably one of my favorite songs ever. I feel your pain. It only has been since Saturday for me and I have been on an emotional roller coaster. One minute I'm mad, one minute I'm crying, and one minute I am just ok. I don't know anymore, but time heals everything! Keep your chin up!

Yup, eventually you have to force it out. The song I've been using is called "Life and Death" and it's from the soundtrack for the TV show Lost (which I started watching at the request of my ex). You can find it on YouTube as well. It's slow for about the first 45 seconds and then the sad melody comes in and it makes me cry EVERY time.

The song that triggers me the most is "Burden" by Opeth.

Most of their music is pretty heavy, but they how some like that one. It's really beatiful.

btw, if you look it up in YouTube you'd probably find the short version of the song. I recommend you find the whole thing.

Dude a great song to relieve emotions is Third Eye Blind - Motorcycle Driveby. So powerful and fitting. "There's things I'd like to do, that you don't believe in. I would like to build something, but you'll never see it happen..."

Another is Trespassers William - Love You More. So beautiful. When I was in a relationship with my ex she would always say she loves me more. I would say it isn't true. Since she broke up with me this song strikes a chord inside and triggers emotions.

I hope your situation gets better man. I've been there and I know what it's like to have those feelings. When your world gets turned upside down and it feels like a ton of bricks. Things'll get better my friend. In due time.

LOVE that song Hallelujah, but hate it at the same time because my ex put it on a cd he made me and it'll forever remind me of him. UGH.

It does definitely feel good to let it out and cry. I have a million songs I've been using to help me get that job done.

Whoa, smookie. How the hell did you find THIS topic? Lol I thought it was forever buried in the cemetery of topics.

Another song that makes me cry nowadays...

Street Lights by Kanye West. GIVE IT A CHANCE. It's not brainless rapping.

Seriously? Nice...

So uh you should probably tell your fiance you're marrying this guy named Thomas X instead. He will understand.

Yes, seriously. I always remember dates for mostly everything to do with tv/movies/music. I'm like the rain (wo)man of media. I'm pretty nerdy like that.

I don't think he'd understand, but he'd probably tell you that you can have me when I'm being a pain in the ass. Until the time, I've stopped being one. :lmao:

I always think of Marissa Cooper dying on The O.C. when I hear that song. Although it was a cover of Hallelujah by Imogen Heap. BTW, Imogen Heap has some great angry break-up songs.
