startingover2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Hello All, I recently went through a divorce and now find myself a single male at the young age of 37. It has been some time since I have dated anyone and really do not know where to begin or if things have changed all that much. To be completely honest, I do not have a whole lot of dating experience. I am not looking to get into another relationship until I have had an opportunity to heal and let some time pass since my divorce, but I do not want to sit at home every night and dwell on the past either. Here is my question: If I meet a woman that I am interested in and ask her out for a date, what is a good first date and should I offer to pick her up or should I suggest that we meet somewhere? Thanks
2sure Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 A good first date is anything that involves a little activity. You want to be able to converse, but also have something to create fun and fill the lulls. Think a walk on the waterfront or going to a festival. Regarding picking her up: just ask. "Shall I pick you up or do you just want to meet me there?" Dont make it an elaborate or expensive date, but pay for her. As in lunch or her admission. Since you are just getting your feet wet, consider becoming active in a volunteer organization. Filled with women. Its a great way to meet people and even if you dont date them...they know other single women. And it will get you used to talking with ...women.
