I stumbled upon this blog yesterday and have fallen in virtual love with the author. Okay, I jest a bit, but seriously everything about his writing and the personality it transmits makes me swoon! I didn't even realize that good writing could be such a turn on. His observations about the world really jive with my own. Also he's a painter (like me). :lmao: Based on what I've gleaned so far, he's exactly my type.

Is there a non-creepy way of starting a correspondence, or is it a lost cause?

Maybe I'm getting a bit carried away, but it's fun to have a virtual crush.:bunny::bunny:

My current bf came across my blogs on MySpace and liked them, so he added me as a friend. We commented back and forth for a few days before he suggested it would be nice to chat via MySpace Messenger or Skype or something as we had so much in common. After a couple of months of chatting we met up, and we've been dating for almost a year now :)

I say go for it! His email is on the site, so send him an email and say hi, I came across your blogs and really liked them, so I thought I'd introduce myself as we seem to have a lot in common. Ask him a few questions about his art or whatever, tell him about what you do, but briefly... keep it short and sweet. If he replies, perhaps you could strike up a friendship and progress to talking via messenger, and eventually meet, as my bf and I did? Obviously you should start off by offering friendship, and see what grows from that. He may be married or have a gf, he may be gay, or he might just be single and find you captivating. At the very least, you'll probably make a new friend. Good luck!

ETA: He mentions his wife and kids on his blog: http://www.idlewords.com/2007/04/

Guess you're out of luck... sorry :(

It would still be nice to strike up an online friendship if you find him interesting, and there's a remote chance he might be divorced by now...

ETA again: Further down the page he mentions his "late wife", so she obviously passed away... maybe he is single after all! He mentions a gf back in 2003, but there's no recent mention of one :) So email him and see what happens...

ETA: It isn't even his wife he mentions; he's actually quoting from a letter in which someone else wrote about their wife... lol :) So maybe he is single after all...

Romania and the Black Sea coast are a great place to visit in any event.

Go for it! When you consider the big picture, what's another restraining order?

I know you can take it.

If he has 1/10th the normal amount of testosterone in his body, you'll be his favorite stalker. He might even stalk you back a little bit.

He's a great writer... I can see why your panties are wet, figuratively speaking of course. LOL

Wow - that's good stuff. The Alameda Weehawken Burrito Tunnel made me laugh out loud with this line:

Weehawken residents still recall the great blackout of 2002, when computers running the braking coils shut down and for four hours burritos traced graceful arcs into the East River, glowing like faint red sparks in the night...

Hilarious - it's outrageous, but the technology references are all pretty accurate - the guy is clearly has a background in science, engineering, or something... (Are we sure it's a guy? If it's a woman, the I've found "my dream woman..." ;) )

Apparently, he's a programmer, writer and painter extraordinaire.
