fabulous_chk Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Met this guy twice. He asked me out for a date tomorrow (Fourth of July) and I said yes. Silly question I know. I'm just wondering because I'm very into him but I have no clue what he feels for me. And I never celebrated 4th of July and it seems to mean a lot for couples.

It would mean a lot to him if you show up in boots, camouflage boy shorts and a bra made out of the american flag . Seriously, c'mon. 4th of july is not a family holiday, and therefore, just a good excuse to reinforce our collective identity (i.e. partey the whole weekend.)
Jilly Bean Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 It's not a couples holiday at all. If anything, it's a big gathering time for family and friends. People tend to host backyard BBQ's and fireworks parties. Enjoy your date.
Author fabulous_chk Posted July 3, 2009 Author Posted July 3, 2009 Thanks lol! I'm assuming too much, since he's spending it with me only and not with his family.
Jilly Bean Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Thanks lol! I'm assuming too much, since he's spending it with me only and not with his family. Well, do you know the situation with his family? Is he close with them and and are they having a big BBQ and he's blowing it off? Just relax, hon. It's a first date. Don't read into it. July 4th is not a couples holiday. Just enjoy the fact that he asked you out, and you have a date arranged, and don't look beyond that. Have fun.
Art_Critic Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Well... at the very least he gets to hold onto the fact that you saw fireworks on your first date together
Author fabulous_chk Posted July 3, 2009 Author Posted July 3, 2009 Okay I'll relax lol! Looking forward to the fireworks.
