I am 20 years old, leaving soon for the U.S. Military, and I have had dates...but I don't seem to be desired or "wanted" in that way by women. I never get flirts, I never get hit on....but the bald, shaved headed, tattooed guys who will probably end up in jail do. But my being Military should be just as "tough guy" or "bad boy" as the next guy. Let me add, I am confident, outgoing and every woman who hears that I don't get women is literally shocked. The problem isn't your red hair, it's your lack of self confidence that women can smell a mile away. You can have purple hair and still walk around like you own the room. Work on that, and maybe you won't need to feel validated by strangers on the internet. Even if you were to dye your hair and still felt like you weren't attractive enough because of your low self-esteem, women wouldn't find you attractive either. Just food for thought.

I could see you with it a bit shorter and kind of spiked (no Faux Hawk) - may make a difference. There are certainly women who prefer redheads but those women may be a bit put off by the style.

Also, another poster mentioned something along these lines already, but... DON'T TELL WOMEN THIS!! You're just setting yourself up for all kinds of bad stuff. First and foremost, insecurity is a huge turn-off, and probably at least 90% of the women you tell this to interpret this statement as insecurity, neediness, etc. Of those women, many will wonder what's wrong with you that no one else is interested. Most of them will probably assume that their interpretation of that statement is correct and you are indeed insecure and needy. Ever hear of social proof? If not, look it up (in Wikipedia or whatever, and also google it and how it relates to dating). Don't TELL women that you don't have it!

I LOVE red hair on men! Have a major crush on Josh whats-his-name, lead singer for Queens of the Stone Age. Men with red hair (not just gingery, but full-on carrot tops) catch my eye immediately. Might have something to do with reading too many Archie comics as a kid (I'm a Betty btw). Or maybe those Tom Sawyer adventures. Anyway, relax OP. Yeah, you're a niche market, but those who love your fiery red hair love it alot

My brother is a red head too and he was in the military, now he still keeps the high and tight haircut but he does have alot of confidence in himself and he approaches any woman. The women he talks to always fall for him and he gets beautiful women too, he is able to make these girls feel good about themselves and his self confidence is a huge factor with his succes with the ladies.

I usually only try for older women or women who aren't as attractive as others because the younger ones or the super-hotties are usually not flirty, and usually have the "hot" guys with them...shaved heads, tattoos, ect.

I'm biased, though, because I rarely like red hair on men (looks much better on women). Somehow it looks effeminate to me. Despite you being cute, I think your hair color is actually a poor match for your face.
