I'm curious if anyone has been following it, and what they think of that Wes guy who is said to have a girlfriend, and just using the girl and the show to promote his band.

Posted

Too soon to tell!

BUTTTTT he has all the right moves, is there at all the right times, and well he's a bad boy... girls are suckers for "bad boys" and he's the poster boy.

Posted

Ha I'd rather he be doing that than actually "looking for his soulmate" or whatever on a reality tv show

He's mentioned before that he's there because he wants his music to go some where... then that whole girlfriend thing came out. I really thought he was a 100% player. Then she went to meet his parents.

I'm still sad she got rid of the wine maker and the pilot.

I do!!! And can I just tell you how effing excited I am that ED IS BACK!?!?!? I love, love, LOVE him - he reminds me of my BF in many ways (nix the argyle and presto!).

I loathe Wes. Grrr.

It's my understanding that Ed and Kipton are the final two.

I was happy Ed was back too!

What did you think of her meeting Wes' parents??

omg- Wes makes my skin crawl! I really hopes she wises up, seems like she will next week. Makes me feel sad for her but I bet I'd fall for the same thing if I were her.

Well..... :o I confess that I read the spoilers on fansofrealitytv.com. Just Google that site with "The Bachelorette" and you can find what I've read there. Those people are insane about figuring out who's going home next, who's in the finals, etc. - and they've been right every single episode so far. (Yes, I like to ruin the surprise for myself.) They analyze every detail, including video/picture/voiceover snippets that they post as proof - it's kinda funny. I'm having a hard time understanding their acronyms though.

I don't trust Wes. I can't believe she chose to keep him. I think he will only break her heart.

#$%^*(&%!!!

I know why she kept Wes, because she thinks he's HOT! Did you hear her comment on the last show that she could be herself with ordinary guys and they would fall in love with her, but then around the hot guys she could never be herself and they wouldn't fall for her.

Well, I think she was talking about Kipton, saying he's hot AND she can be herself. I believe it's the same with Wes, and he DOES have all the moves!

I liked Michael. He seemed so sincere, even though he was young. Reid is kinda goofy. I don't remember Ed much as I missed a couple of shows. But she sure seemed happy to see him again.

I'm mad she kept Wes. After all the warnings she still kept him and got rid of beautiful sincere Michael. At this point, I hope she chooses Wes in the end and gets hurt. Maybe that'll repair her very damaged brain cells.

It also pisses me off that ABC/The Bachelorette isn't disclosing what they've taped Wes saying. It reinforces the fact that they really don't care about anyone's "quest for true love" and care more about ratings. What a joke of a show.

It irks me too, because I adore Jillian.

BUT, IRL we don't have people following our SO's around with a camera catching them do/say bad things. In that way, by not disclosing this information, they are keeping to the meaning of "reality" television.

See, I've been trying to remember if I've actually heard Wes say he had a girlfriend, or he wasn't there for J. I missed a few shows too. I kept thinking, damn, if he has a girlfriend, his family is really good at acting.

Ohhh thanks for the spoiler SG  Dang you! At least Wes doesn't make it. I hope he gets found out.

My mom kept saying Jillian deserves Wes for keeping his lame butt around after all that she found out.

Well, they WERE wrong about one thing: They thought Ed came back on proposal day. He came back earlier. :)

Jesus, woman! Spoiler alert!

The story always gets leaked way in advance, but I DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW.

The Bachelorette is the one TV show I watch. I think it's totally stupidly ridiculous... the perfect fun, fluffy show.

A friend of mine did not get the digital converter box, in hopes of eliminating a distraction in her life, and she has been coming to my house the past few Mondays to watch The Bachelorette. We have a blast.

I hate Wes with the fire of a thousand suns. Jillian disappointingly fits the stereotype of a woman who goes for bad boys, the ones that make you work the hardest. It really pisses me off. She lets every guy who seems to genuinely like her go!!! And she keeps the slimeballs! I think her selection process has totally sucked. :p

I want Reid to win. Now I already know that he won't. :(

You're right but it's like saying if a camera crew was filming someone about to commit suicide that they shouldn't step in because IRL they wouldn't be there anyway. I know that's an extreme example and a life is at stake but it begs the question of where do you draw the line. It's all about doing the "right" thing and I just think the right thing here is disclosing to Jillian, before she gets anymore emotionally attached to this fool, that he's a fraud. They won't do the right thing because it means more ratings as they watch someone potentially get emotionally destroyed by yet another man.

I know this is off topic but it reminds me of an episode of Boston Legal I saw recently on tv where a network was sued because they failed to stop a man from going on its talk show and proposing to a woman it knew would say no since she thought he was a nutjob. He ended up killing her because of the embarrasment he felt after getting rejected on national tv. When you're dealing with human emotions, I tend to think there is a certain moral/ethical duty (if not legal) the network has to ensure that it is not playing with the emotions of others in the quest for more ratings.

Wes is really good looking but he doesn't seem sincere and he talks so slow. He is hard to figure out because he really doesn't have to say much just smile and then they make out. If he is lying he is a horrible person in my book, a low life. IF the show is even real!

But doesn't anyone think how Wes' family was with her, and bringing it all up was weird!??!!? I don't like Wes either. I just wish I could remember if he ever actually said to anyone that he has a gf.

Posted

Unfortunately I missed most of the last show. I remember him saying how he go what he wanted something about publicity for himself a few shows ago. Maybe I can watch the show online or that part I missed with his family. I'll see.

Wes is kinda dirty and greasy looking, like he sleeps in a cardboard box under the bridge. And he's totally not into her. Instead of comforting Jillian for having to suffer through the doubts and anxiety of being told he might have a gf, he threw it back at her: he was getting irritated at having to answer her questions and he was insulted that she didn't trust him...where have we heard that tactic before?!

None of the other guys are into her, either, not so much.

Reid is emotionally unavailable - he's at that point in his life where he "thinks" he should be getting ready to get married, but he's neurotic and he can't make a decision to save his life about anything. Glasses or no glasses?

Kip is just plain not interested in her. I saw the hometown dates episode, and in the hot tub he wouldn't even put his arm around her. She was all stuck to his side, but even when they kissed, he didn't turn to her - he had his shoulder and arm stretched out between them. Body language says no.

And Ed? Technically, he's already dumped her once by leaving the show for his job. Which probably made her want him that much more, since she seems to go for guys whom she has to "work hard to find her happiness" with.

Whoever she ends up with, it won't last. None of them do!

Honestly, I find Jillian so incredibly annoying. I hate that fake raspy laugh.

She's ridiculously naive- and not refreshingly so. I often have to turn the channel because she grates on my nerves too much.

What couple has worked out from this series.... Just Trista and Ryan isn't it?

I find the majority of guys left are slimeballs.

Don't mean to be a hatah...

:o

One thing I do find interesting is the dynamic of the men in waiting.

I don't hate her, but I do hate the way she talks. The way she sounds it seems like she talks too fast and doesn't take a breath, but she sounds that way from the second she starts talking, so now I'm convinced she has nasal problems and can't breath and talk at the same time. Either way, I keep wanting to tell her to slow down and blow her nose first.

To me, she comes across as needy and desperate for approval. She's said more than once that all her friends are married, and she's the last one. That's driving her neediness. She tries too hard with the wrong guys.

I think Wes hired actors as his family because his real family knows he has a gf.
