neveragain2493 Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 There is a guy in my life that I go wayyy back with. We have always really been friends. A couple of months ago, we went on a date and had an amazing time. However, he went back to his ex, and I didn't know. I still caught him looking at me and cracking a joke every now and then, but I was too angry to say anything. His friends told me he and his girlfriend broke up, so I tried talking to him last night to see how he was. When I told him how I felt, he said, "Things didn't go the way I had expected, but that is no excuse. I'm sorry, and I know that's not good enough, and it shouldn't be." We talked for about 3 hours, and when I asked if he had anything to say to me, he said, "I'm sorry the last time I saw you was the last time I saw you. I had a blast with you. Much more fun than the time I spent without you.." He told me he was fine and is talking like he wants me back. We're talking a bit now. What do you say? Should I give him a chance?
Ronni_W Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 If you're asking whether you should go on another date with him, I vote "yes - why not?" Even though you go way back, you guys only had one date...it's not like he owed you anything (or you owed him anything, for that matter.) I'd caution to just take it easy and slow. 3 or 6 months later, you can decide if he is or is not someone you want to get serious about. In the meantime, it sounds like you guys are going to have a lot of fun going on dates and getting to know each other better
