QuietOverAllHoops Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Let's face it, the american movie industry is ruining our country. Young chicks dig thugs with guns like on t.v.. It has gotten so bad that guys now need to wear tee-shirts with wings on the back because that is the only way you are going to think they're an angel. If I dressed up in the most outrageous socially-hypocritical halloween costume I could imagine and went to a club, they might not even let me in because I didn't dress-up! Can anyone tell me how am I ever going to find a true universal-quality girlfriend in person without leaving the country? Please don't respond to defend the movie industry. Put that somewhere else. This entry is a request for Saints only to tell me how to find a real woman who is impossible to smother with LOVE.

I'm very certain they are the lest affected/brainwashed by the media As long as you don't mind their dissecting your favourite show to pieces...though!

Re-read your initial thread and think objectively for a moment how to respond to this guy, who seems quite frustrated (understandably) yet chose to blame on other factors, i.e., media, because it ruins the whole population of the opposite gender (a sad generalisation). There will always be persons whose mindset are unfortunately formed by the media. Some people get educated and grow out of it, some people do not. So here is my question: how do you represent yourself that you're not one of the media-brainwashed one, so that the woman of your ideal could recognise you? Are you comfortable with who you are and stick to it so that the other person who looks for someone like you can find you? Surrounding yourself by the wrong crowd and complaining about the lack of qualities you're looking for may be a problem. Plus, let's be honest. This is 21C. No matter how much we criticise the pop culture, we grow up and live around it. A woman who reads James Joyce and plays a game of scrabble may also watch American Idol once in a while.

I respect public television, history channel, discovery channel, C-span that is what a prefer to watch when I do watch, which is occasionally. I just don't want to get shot by kid with a real gun who figured out how to cock it by watching in on t.v.. I use to own guns, I sold them because I felt like I didn't need them. I just want to marry a woman who doesn't like violence. I'm really strong and would be afraid of hurting my woman if she liked to fight.

I would tend to agree with on that, however, I have heard on multiple occasions women say they want to find boyfriends like the dbag in Twilight. In fact dumping boyfriends because they weren't like them. It's like they think they all look like Kristen Stewart or something. It's not that the movie industry is that powerful it's that women can be that stupid.
